Question about Mazda MPV

2 Answers

The brake light comes on faintly. When I pull up the emergency brake the light is bright. When I put the handle down the light does not completly go out. I took the housing off around the handle and depressed the light button down all the way and the light still faintly stayed on. What are some of the causes of this? Will the light come on if the rear brakes need replaced?

It's the switch for your parking brake needs adjusting or replacing. I suspect moisture or condensation got into it. I'd replace it. pretty easy fix.

It wouldnt be dim if it was a warning, your experiencing a short, somewhere along that circuit its grounding out probably rubbed through the coating on the wire and causing just a small amount of electricity to flow

Passenger Rear Wheel Locked Up?

Any Vehicle you buy that age or one that has been sitting outside in the weather can't be used until you work on it for a couple weeks & go completely thru it

All four brake will have to come apart & all rust removed
& whatever else needs to be done

That is a car for someone who does all their own work
Sort of a hobby & restoration project

When my car starts the Headlights come on automatic, But now they are not coming on

check your emegency brake to insure that is is off. pull the emergency brake release to insure the e-brakes released. you may need to pull the e-brake handle and at same time handle is pulled,w/left foot lift up on the e-brake pedal.the headlights[or running lights] come on automatic when the cars running, unless!!! the emergency brake is on.if the emergency brake is on,the headlights,or running lights will not work. check this please! thank you for choosing fixya.com!

Daytime running lights Everytime I turn on my car my DRL relay clicks about six times and then stops,After that my daytime running lights don't work.

make sure daytime running lights are on,you may only need to pull the emergency brake pull handle up and same time lift the emergency brake pedal up by hand while you have the e-brake pull handle up. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

Emergency brake locked after pull release handle

handbrake jammed on somewhere ,could be front cable ,because the rear cable is pulled by the compensator so if it was the rear one then i would expect only one cable siezed and that is normally the kerbside one.
