The ABS
light is on because you have a code stored in your ABS module. It is a
good idea to bring it to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine the
problem. They can tell you precisely which wheel sensor is bad or which
ABS component is faulty. There is one wheel sensor at each wheel,
directly over the exciter ring at each hub. If you want to scan the code
yourself, you will need a Ford Super Star II tester or an equivalent
scan tool to access the ABS system.
Take a look at the front and rear ABS notched rotors, and make sure
they are not caked up with debris, oil or dirt because the sensors read
these notches.
