Got an electrical issue with my 99 suburban. Back up lights don't work, both sides. I have other electrical issues don't know if they are related. Seat heaters work off and on, front passenger door opening doesn't trigger overhead interior lights. Also, the Turn signal arm...the cruise control works intermittently, the windshield wipers work intermittently. It's not the fuses. Im at a loss. There is a wiring harness for trailering. But it's not hooked up to anything. Looking for help getting a wiring schematic so I can start to check the wiring. Thanks, Lauren

My gfs envoy does this stuff too. Weirdly i found a wiring harness under the driver seat that has a mind of its own. When these problems happen look under the driver seat and move the wiring harness around. It fixed my problem, it may be a connection that is not making good contact in that harness.

My heated seats, easy exit seat, cruise control, and odometer lights were all effected by this one harness

Thanks, I'll take a look and see if it changes anything.

There is a GM Bulletin on it. The wiring is chaffed from rubbing against the metal under the power seat. You can re-wire it if it's not making a good connection. If it's blowing the fuse, use electrical tape and wrap it.

99 durango, both front and back passenger side windows dont role down. driver side front and rear role up and down fine

There are a few possible reasons why the front and back passenger side windows on your 99 Durango aren't rolling down:
  1. Faulty window regulator: The window regulator is the mechanism that moves the window up and down. Over time, the regulator can become worn or damaged, making it difficult or impossible to operate the window.
  2. Electrical issue: It's possible that there's an issue with the electrical system that powers the passenger side windows. This could be caused by a blown fuse, a faulty switch, or a problem with the wiring.
  3. Window motor failure: The window motor is responsible for moving the window up and down. If the motor is faulty, the window won't move.
  4. Window switch problem: The window switch could also be the culprit. If the switch is damaged or not functioning properly, the window won't roll down.
To diagnose the issue, you can start by checking the fuses related to the power windows. If the fuses are intact, you can use a voltmeter to check if the switch is receiving power when it's pressed. If the switch is getting power, the problem could be with the window motor or regulator.
If you're not comfortable performing these diagnostic steps, it's best to take your Durango to a qualified mechanic or automotive electrician for further inspection and repair.

96 Suburban has no power to the starter switch & other electrical problems

You may need a shop to look at it, or get a used shop manual from Ebay to get the necessary wiring diagrams. The problems could be related, such as the key switch or the main wiring harness.
You say the dome light fuse is draining the battery, is one of the interior lights staying on ?

Ambient sensor gauge stopped working correctly at the same time the AC quit

The ambient temp sensor is related to the AC function, if the HVAC system thinks the outside temp is too low, the AC will not be turned on. You probably have a defective temp. sensor. It is easy to change and relatively inexpensive. It is located on the underside of the top radiator support almost in the center (just to the drivers side of center).
The car dying at a stop light can probably be solved by cleaning the throttle body. Make sure that both the front and rear sides of the throttle body are cleaned. And also disconnect the battery during the cleaning process, this will reset the computer and allow it to relearn to the cleaned throttle body.
The compass issue is another separate issue and may just require a recalibration. I don't know what the procedure is but try Googling the subject.

Have a 99 suburban 4x4 , all three back brake lights do not wrk

I was having the exact same problem as my brake switch was fine on my 95 suburban. However upon further inspection the problem was very simple i felt really dumb once i found this: the wire harness that comes away from the switch witch is a bundle of white wires that comes down and across the under side of the steering column had 2 damaged wires upon repairing this i have had no problems since then feel free to email me on this problem at [email protected] as i will do my best to help u out. But the problem is most likely a wire short out, or damaged wires for the normally open circuitfor your brake switch.

My 99' volvo v70 continually flashes the traction control and abs warning light and the speedometer stops working the trip meter and the odometer go blank than all of a sudden it will start working again...

Sounds like a bad ABS control module is at least part of your problem. The symptoms are usually and ABS and TRACS light intermittent or constand and eventually your speedometer works intermittently or totally quits. This guy rebuilds/upgrades them for about $140. New ones run over $800. http://home.earthlink.net/~vicrocha/Volvo_Parts/Volvo_ABS_removal.htm

Brake lights do not work

This is a well documented problem, replace the turn signal/multifunction switch to correct this issue, this very problem happened on my GMC, it is a 99 as well, replaced the switch as instructed by a chevy forum member and it fixed the problem
