When my 92 chev van Lumina gets warm it stalls and won't start till It cools down. What could the problem be.

You'll need to get more information. Find an auto parts store that offers free engine code readouts and have them tell you what the engine computer has detected. This will shorten the long list of possible causes. Post again with the results - you may get to post your own solution.
I've had a bad fuel injector driver transistor in the computer (throttle body injection) and an ignition module do this to me.

Where is the cranking sensor located on a apv lumina 1992 mini van

The 1992 Lumina APV does not have a crankshaft position sensor. If your car has a tachometer in the instrument panel it gets it's "signal" from the ignition coil.

When coming to a stop the motor shuts down. to take off again you have to put it in neutral to restart. it then takes 2 or more tries to keep it going once you shift to drive.

SOUND LIKE FAULTY TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID.WHAT HAPPENING WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP.WHEN YOUR FOOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CLUTCH SOLENOID SUPPOSE TO UNLOCK TORQUE CONVERTER TO KEEP FROM STALLING THE ENGINE IF NOT THATS WHAT CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL OUT.SO HAVE THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH CHECK OUT AND HAVE THE TRANSMISSION SCANNED FOR A TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID FAULT.

I need instructions on how to replace a bad heater core in my 1990 chev. lumina apv van. Not sure how to do this.

you can get a repair manual on ebay for less than the price of a tank of gas. there will be instructions and photos in it. also search youtube for videos

I would have the car checked on the computor.Even if the engine light is off it will store the codes.When you get the codes it should point you in the right direction.I would say it's posibly the throttle position sensor.

I believe you are mistaken, I own a 1992 Chevy lumina APV and it has a 3.8.

Check to make sure the power brake booster is not leaking, do this by starting the van and just let it idle in park and push the brake pedal if the engine stalls or surges or you hear a sucking noise under the dash then replace the power brake booster if there is none of these systems then replace the idle control motor. GOOD LUCK

1995 Chevy apv 3.8 L V6...engine starts then stalls if it runs ..it surges and misses then stalls...the service engine light comes on but cannot read code...does not have an A/B pin to jump. I changed the harmonic balancer an switch about a month ago and it ran fine...now its acting up again...any suggestions?
