Must be the same as my 2005 V70. Do the brake lights function? If not it's probably a microswitch and /or solenoid needs changing somewhere gearshift mechanism. Mine let me downn yesterday but everything points to this.

I have had my 2002 S60 back to the dealership twice since having this problem in November and it is stuck in my driveway again! I just got the car back yesterday after they had it for a week. Someone please tell me what to tell the idiots at the dealership.
leased a 2006 volvo S60 and it locks up in the P. It will not allow me to shift out of parking to go to N or D. It just happened a couple of days ago. Sometimes i could do drive the car but most of the time it locks up. I thought it was the wheel lock system but even after i spin the wheel, it still doesn' t work. Help please it' s my daily commuter.
