Sounds like cam timing is off. one notch is about 8 degrees. Was the no 1 cylinder at tdc? you can remove spark plug and carefully insert screw drive into hole. When you turn crankshaft you will see the screwdriver go up stop and then down. rock crankshaft to get screwdriver to very top. Use this as a starting point and set cam timing, Check that tensioner is working properly to remove chain slack from drivers side.

SOURCE: 2002 nissan maxima gle timing chain or sprockets

Ok, first off you need to take your vehicle to a Nissan dealer for a second opinion. Its not at all common to need a T-chain @ 58,000 miles unless you dont take care of your car and or you beating the snot out of it like it was stolen. What is the symptom? What caused it? When did it start? Second, this is not something an amature could/should do as it is very involved and there are alot of things you could potentially mess up. Third a new engine(long block), parts alone would run approx. 6-8 thousand dollars. A used engine could be an option and could run approx.1500-2500 dollars depending on mileage. Hope this helps and good luck.

If this is the Z24 engine, you may have a mess of issues. That engine has two coils, and one could of easily gone bad. I've seen this problem a lot on this engine, and could be fixed by figuring out which coil went bad. Also check the plugs and wires. Make sure all of the connections are good and maybe change out the coils.

How-to-reset-the-timing-chain-on-a-nissan-hardbody-4x4-1996-pickup-truck-2.4

Basically the timing chain in every vehicle is set up on the following principal No 1 cylinder is at TDC on compression stroke " meaning both valves intake and exhaust are closed and the ignition rotor should also be lined up with No 1 ignition lead . On the timing chain sprockets there will be a mark on each that align or point to each other and u fit as such.
As long as u make sure your on no 1 cylinder compression stroke and cyl is at top dead centre then line up the sprockets u'll be sweet

I have a 96 nissan pickup xe and i want to know how to insstall in the correct position the timing chain

If you look on the sprockets there is markings. Before you take the old chain off you need to line them all up. The take the chain off and replace it keeping all of the markings lined up. Make sure to check for bad sprockets and other components of the timing.

Tears timing chain ajuster off nissan1989 four times

I'm assuming that you are talking about 1989 Nissan Truck 4WD 3.0L FI 6cyl.

In this models, the Z24i and KA24E engines do not use the pin counting method for finding correct valve timing. Instead, set the timing chain by aligning its mating marks with those of the crankshaft sprocket and camshaft sprocket. The camshaft sprocket should be installed by fitting the knock pin of the camshaft into its No. 2 hole. On the Z24i engine, the No. 2 timing mark must also be used.

Excatly, what is the problem? Adjuts timing procedure?

Is there and issue with 94 nissan pick up and the timing chain coming off. I had it replaced in 07 and it came off again 2 days ago. Thats what the mechanic says anyway.

I'm assuming this is the 2.4L engine? If so, I have a 1992 with 232,000 miles on it and haven't had the timing chain out of it yet so as a rule they are pretty dependable. Usually what I find when I see a chain skip or come off is that there is a problem with the chain guide, the tensioner, an out of line sprocket, or a severly worn chain that is causing the chain to derail. I see far more chains that skip a tooth or two than I ever see that actually come off of the sprockets so I would take an extra good look at the tensioner and guides to start with. Wish I had more for you but hope this helps a bit!

Should you replace the timing chain in a 1995 2wd pickup and if so how often

timing chains in most cases never need be repalced for the life of the engine, timing belts on the other hand last about 60,000-100,000 miles.
