I have a1997 nissan 4x4 pickup with a ka24e bad engine, I found a ka24e engine out of a 1995 4x4 pickup. To get the engine to hook up to the 97 it looks like Iam gong to hve to change intake and distributer. when comparing the engines I noticed a big difference with the distributer, the position of the no.1 firing pin is in the top left position on the distibuter cap and the 95 is on the lower right hand position on the cap. Will these two engines swap out?

The engine blocks should be identical. As long as you swap those components your engine should be compatible.

97 nissan pick up 215,000 miles. Should I add Lucas oil treatment every so often? What blend of oil should I use?

No oil treatment is needed or recommended for use in an engine. The present day engine oils are formulated with various modifiers to provide proper lubrication, viscosity and cleaning to your engines internal parts. Using ANY additive could upset the formulations by adding chemicals which aren't compatible with the oil you are using. It's much better to just select a good oil and stick with it.

Also here is a site , which will tell you , depending on where you live , what oil is recommended for a Nissan Pickup .
http://www.synthetic-motor-oil-change-and-filters.com/recommended-oil/NISSAN/1997/PICKUP/2.4L/KA24E/
I myself have been using Pennzoil in my truck for 7 years and I change the oil every 3750 miles . If you do not want to follow my advice , bring your Nissan truck to a dealer and ask them . The oil most dealers use is oil that comes in a 55 gallon barrel and is used in all vehicles .
Good luck

Need engine size in Nissan pickup

It is either a Z24i, or a KA24E. You should find the identification number on the left side of the block at the rear. It should say what size it is.

How to engage 4x4 in 1995 nissan pathfinder, i just bought a pathfinder that was parked for 4 years and when i tried putting it in to 4wd the lever would not move it felt like it was frozen

My 97 pickup has to be in neutral. Push clutch in push down on 4x4 handle and then shift back or forward on lever. Plus engaging the lockout on hubs.

Broken Timing belt

this is an interference motor, if cranked the valves will come into contact with the piston and cause major damage. Its very possible that valves may have bent(worst case). Have the belt replaced and engine pressure tested. Hopefully its not the worst case.
