You need to have someone very experienced with these cars look at it and give you a price on the repair.I am sure there is a european repair facility that has been in business for several years close to you.Whoever told you you needed a "valvetronic" would have given you a price on the parts and labor to install if they knew what they were talking about.Do not let someone guess at what is wrong , parts for this car are expensive and a good diagnostic will well worth the money.Sometimes mechanics will say you need a part that they dont install to get you to leave so they dont have to admit they have not got a clue what is wrong.Any professional will supply the diagnostic , the labor , the parts and a warranty on all .If someone sugests any other way I would be suspitious.Good luck!
