Question about 1983 Ford Mustang Hatchback

Ok me and fiance just bought a 1983 ford mustang and its a hatchback and the hatchback wont lock or shut all the way so what all do i need to do to it to fix it because i have no idea and we do not want to pay labor so im going to fix it i just dont know whats wrong with it

If the hatch wont lock make sure you have yout latch striker bushing. its only 15 dollars on americanmuscle.com

More then likely, it is the lock latch. Sometimes you can just reset them. It may be stuck and need replaced.

1983 mustang alternator won,t charge. Have new alternator and regulator


Check battery for voltage when is not runing and when is runing.Possible battery lead's shorted and wont hold charge.

How to remove oil pan. Engin is raised as far as possible, oil pan hitting front of trans. 1983 ford mustang 5.0


i hate to say it but... i recommend pulling the engine out and putting it on an engine stand. while it is out replace crank seals and inspect freeze plugs.

One rocker arm not getting any oil


5.0L engines oil the rockers through the pushrods and lifters check those. check pushrod first to see if it is stoped up.

that trnas will not bolt up and since you don't have a computor control the trans wount interface with the harness it requires which you do not have on your vehicle. please rate this solution
