My radio has all the bells and whistles. It is a large square box that an aftermarket radio will not fill. It seems to have no reception at all. when it gets warm it starts to recive but very weakly. To change the antenna would be troublesome as it is in the rear and I dont feel that is the problem. It also has theft alarms so will a used one is I can find it work. I would like to lose it but how to fill the hole

A used one will work, you can get the code at the dealer. As for aftermarket radios: standard aftermarket radio size is referred to as 1 din. Your stock stereo is 1.5 din. To install an aftermarket stereo in Amy car requires an install kit, in your case the kit will make up for the size difference by just filling the gap with black plastic. But there are aftermarket stereos that are 1.5 din. They will still require an install kit, but will completely fill the hole in your dash. If you're planning on getting a $99 stereo at a parts store don't bother and just find a stock one. But spend $150 on an aftermarket stereo and you'll be very happy. Good luck.

What's your problem?NEED SCHEMATICS FOR ALARM ON A 1991 HONDA ACCORD

When you say "added starter to car" do you mean an aftermarket reomote starter? If so, I can't help you. The only advice I can give in a case like this is if the vehicle you are driving is not equipped from the factory with all of the features you want, you are much better off trading it in for one that is.

Adding a bunch of aftermarket bells and whistles usually damages wiring harnesses, causes electrical problems, and drastically lowers the value of the vehicle.

Best buy installed radio & speakers bad reception told by installer factory wired wrong true or false can i get new harness & instructions where & price

Best Buy has a pretty good reputation for installing aftermarket radios and they generally use a new harness connected to the old harness to make it work right.

I would try to have the reception issue fixed by Best Buy before the warranty runs out.

How long ago did you have it worked on?

I'm sure they will make it right if you take it back.

Even, if it requires changing out the radio.

Have them check that the antenna is properly connected to the back of the radio.

All of a sudden I have NO FM radio reception in my 1999 Jeep

If you still have good strong AM reception, chances are that the FM receiver portion of your radio has failed. Radio repairs are usually as or more expensive than replacing with an aftermarket unit. You can either find a direct factory replacement in a scrapyard or just buy an aftermarket radio (with an adapter harness) and install it.

2001 Jeep Wrangler makes whistling sound except when you accelerate. Everytime you put your foot on the gas, it stops....take your foot off the gas and it whistles

if you have an aftermarket intake on the jeep the throttle body is making the whistle... there are many aftermarket throttle body spacers out there that can eliminate this...
if you dont than I think that we have the same problem... might be a vacuum leak if the jeep idles funny or it could be an exhaust manifold leak... I'll let you know if I figure out mine. :)

FM/AM reception problem

It should- that splitter is generally used for factory telephone reception and also there is an antenna located in the rear window glass. It will work for radio reception but it will interfer with your phone if you have a phone installed. just make sure you have a good antenna ground. Try removing the grond and sanding the metal so that there is no paint or oxidation that causes higher resistance. This generally affects a.m. reception.

Whistling noise when accelerating

you most likely have an aftermarket radio installed
the noise you hear is engine noise, if yo turn your radio off it will go away
this can be fixed by either getting better wiring for your aftermarket radio or by installing a noise filter, you can purchase that at most big electronic stores

No am reception and poor fm reception - 2004 Kia Sedona

If the antenna is on the front, pop the hood, and locate where the antenna wire connects to the bottom of the antenna and make sure it is connected well. If everything checks out there, you will have to pull the radio from the dash, and look at the back of it. There will be a large black wire by itself connected to the radio. Push it in to make sure its connected as well. That could really be your only problem unless your radio happens to have a fault on the inside which is extremely rare. Hope that helps
