2008 hyundai elantra will run untill i press clutch and put into neutral. Will not maintain idle? Car will restart and run untill rpm below idle and shut off? As long as I am on the accelerator and keeping above 2-3000 rpm its fine. Drove fine last night, but didnt this afternoon. Have tried nothing to fix?

try tapping on the idle air control valve, if idle drops replace the valve..... also check for vacuum leaks..... you will prob have to reset ya hard idle stop, after the valve is replaced
DOES THE ENGINE MIL WARNING LIGHT COME ON? WITH OUT MORE INFO YOU NEED TO CHECK MOTOR ON A CODE READER FOR STORED FAULTS, CHECK ALL AIR LINES TO EMMISION CONTROL, , SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE GONE INTO SAFE MODE, A SPLIT OR LEAKING PIPE ON THE INTERCOOLER IS A COMON FAULT ON THESE, IF YOU SWITCH ENGINE OF AND BACK ON QUICKLY WITH MOTOR RUNNING WITH OUT STALLING MOTOR AND IT CLEARS THEN IT IS PROBERLY THE SAFE MODE CUTING IN MEANING A FAULT HAS BEEN SEEN BY PCM
if it is cold where you reside your car will run at a higher rpm then when in warm temperatures so that it can build up engine heat faster. if this is not the case you will have to take it in to the dealer ship to have it put on the computer
i think the problem in the transmission box...you must take your car to the nearst hyundai work station and ask to mechanic to check transmission box ( Oil, Clutch etc) maybe this time you need to replace the clutch...
i had the same problem, you have to change the perge control valve, its on the back of the engine below where the plastic intake pipe meets the metal intake manifold on the back side of the engine between the engine block and the firewall, on the underside of your car hood you will see a vacume system diagram, it will illistrate where the valve is, it should cost about 30 bucks or so at a hyundai dealership
I have experienced this. This seems to only happen when its cold out and you use the defrosters/AC. If thats the case then to fix/avoid this you can press the accelerator briefly (while in park/neutral) just to rev up the engine to about 2k or so, before you put it into gear.
