first i want to thank you for your time and helpful advice. to add to the story, iwas told that i should unplug the maf while it was idling. the result of that was the car stalled out. could this be the reason for the dtc reading. also since the stalled out ,tried starting fluid with no results. thank you again. not so dazed and confused today

was able to get car home and work on it this weekend. took it all the way down to the timing belt and made sure all my timing marks were on. not having the funds to spend on sensors i took the throttle body off and gave it a good cleaning(boy was it dirty). also found that the dist. was off one tooth. happy to say that when all put back together the car started on the first try. took it out for a road test and could not be any more pleased with its performance. the best it has run since i bought it a year ago. just letting you know you are awesome and without your assisstance i would be lost. again thank you

new day new situation. after all i did the car ran great for two days. driving home today the car started idling rough at stops again, with the gas guage going down fast. lucky to make it home. monday the only new dtc code was 232. today it has added 121,113. also a noisier than normal sound from what i believe is the fuel pump under the rear of the car(constant). any and all information and guidance will again be grately appreciated. thanks again.

Error code 1-1-3 = bad fuel Injector
Error code 2-1-1 = No O2 sensor signal.
Error code 2-3-2 = O2 sensor signal error
414 - Turbo boost pressure too high
232 - long term fuel mixture too lean or rich at idle
121 - MAF signal absent or faulty.
------------- The codes which you mentioned are bold and underlined. But the other codes which are not underlined, that codes are also other possible codes, which most of the times comes up,with the codes which you mentioned.-------
Replace the O2 sensor. Fuel injectors and maf sensor. Start the car and drive it down the road for 5 minutes. then read the error cods again. ------------ 2-3-2* Fuel trim (lambda control) too lean or too rich at idle }If too rich: high fuel press., leaking injector } ( error comes 113)various driving problems Fuel trim (lambda control) too lean at idle Oxygen sensor( error comes 232).In your cases its both. ------- The maf means mass air flow sensor located on the throttle body.Look at the small rubber hoses from the air intake which go from the large 3 inch air pipe just past the MAF bolted to the side of the engine.--------This 3 parts are to be replaced. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Yes that can be the possibility of the dtc codes coming up.But also other reason can be faulty maf.But also it can be problem with dirty throttle body or faulty tps sensor cal;led throttle position sensor on throttle body.

    This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

As the first code which showed again was 2-3-2, so in that case the first thing to be checked is 02 sensors. Also you mentioned the noise from the fuel pump under the rear of the car.232 - long term fuel mixture too lean or rich at idle.First get the o2 sensors cleaned and check, also check the fuel pump ,fuel pump relay under hood in the engine power distribution fuse box.And get the fuel pressure checked. Also for more confirmation, just spray the carb cleaner on throttle body intake and see,if car runs more smooth and stops making this loud noise. If it stops making noise and runs smooth after spraying carb cleaner, then its indicating towards faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter and vacuum lean has to be tested.
    ----------------This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

My 97 tahoe turns over, but will not start, fuel pump works fine, & has new plugs, wires, distributer cap, rotor, coil,& ignition control module,& new fuel filter, got any solutions?

Try spraying quick start in the intake.if it acts like it wants to start if only for a second or two you could have low fuel pressure.you should have at least 30 lbs.you need special pressure tester.if it doesn't fire, check for spark.if it has the "flat"dist. Cap you might want to check it because they have a lot of problems with that cap.

2001 blazer wont start ran fine before turning off has fuel pressure has fire check timming ok relaced coil ,ing moduel crank sensor dist cap could it be the anti theft ?

You say it has fuel pressure, if it has sequential fuel injection it needs about 70psi to start the engine.
If it cranks and has spark to the plugs, the anti-theft system is not involved.
You did not mention the rotor, I assume you have spark to the plugs not just out of the coil.
If you have not yet checked cranking fuel pressure, I would start there. The pump could be weak or the filter stopped up.

I have a 1999 chevy suburban 5.7 Vortech witch is starting to drive me nuts. The spark plug wires, and all around the ignition coil is arching. With this said the distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and...

Assuming none of the wires are crossed, AND you replaced the cap rotor wires with quality replacements (meaning AC Delco) then you may have a bad coil. Remove coil from dist cap if HEI and look for any signs of arcing such as blackened areas.

How about the pick up coil in the distributor? A trick we used to use back in the day was to tap the distributor housing with a hammer, key word tap. If the engine missed or stalled than the pick-up coil was replaced.

Check the fuel for a presence of water. I'm sure there was a recall notice on the gasket on top of the fuel tank where the sending unit mounts. My YJ sat for a year and had water in the tank from this leaking. Drain and drop the tank, replace the gasket, and reinstall.

1/ Have you fitted the spark plug leads in the proper firing order.
2/ Look inside the top of distributor Top (this is not the first time a new distributer cap has very small crack) or the rotor arm is fitting the cap properly. Hope this helps Best Wishes, Malcolm Campbell.
