If the door locks work manually with using the key in the door then probably will need to just reprogram/initialize the key especially if its a new key. if the power door locks dont work at all using the key manually then first check the fuse.

initializing key:
all these steps must be completed within 15 sec. of cycling the key i.e. turning the key off
step 1: get in vehicle close all doors and trunk
step 2: turn ignition on tell all dash lights are on but engine is not started
step 3: turn ignition off pull key out
step 4: press and hold the unlock botton down while then at the same time press the lock button three times in a row
step 5: door locks should initializ at this point they will lock and unlock on there own to show process is completed

I also have a 2003 330i with the same problem and this solution didn't work. Do you have any other things I can try?

I have same car and the key will open all locks 1000 times in a row and then stop. You then can only open driver side door with key mechanically. No other door will open. Then later all is well again. At the moment only driver side door opens by hand with key.

After my 330i 2002 alarm went off, the central locking also don't work anymore. I had to force window open to get into the car. The key just work on drivers side door. Any suggestions?

Check the fuse. If fuses are good, check the battery in the remote. If that is good, try unhooking the negative battery cable for 10 seconds and reconnecting it.

My BMW 330i year 2001, 5 door i can't lock anymore the key remote won't work no more the manual door to open also doesn't work either and i ask the dealer if how much to buy a key and they said its $200...

Im sure you already fixed your problem but replacing the batt is very easy patiently use a razor blade and cut around the seam of the key eventually the key will open up do not pry then slowly remove the batt radioshack and a few online sites sell the correct batt i actually got the one size bigger batt it still fits and has a longer life pretty simple and cost about $5

Boot will not unlock with the remote button from key fob

Yes, this is what makes the Germans so cool!

Step one, replace battery in key foob. If that doesnt work proceed to next step.

Your BMW has a central locking system overide solution.

insert your main key into the driver door. before turning the key lift the door handle as if your opening the door, then turn the key all the way clockwise....it should go further than it ever has....it should make all the door latches POP! If this doesnt work, Try it while turning the key counterclockwise.

If this doesnt work, make sure you have your radio code and take off the negative battery cable overnight on your car. Then attach it after 12 hours and repeat above steps.

This should work, this is what they will do at the dealer and charge you about $700 :-)
