Engine service light on

Service engine soon ? Do you mean SERVICE VEHICLE SOON Indicator
The amber SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator is an alert to the driver whenever there are specific current codes stored in the BCM or in the event of a loss of Class 2 serial data.

If your vehicle has a check engine light ,it doesn't have service engine soon .One or the other .

Disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes. Reconnect after and the code will clear. However if the problem persists, the code will come back with in 20 miles or 30 minutes.

Error Code: P0154
Description:
Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 1 , Bank 2 - No Activity Detected
Problem areas:
- Wiring.
- Open circuit in signal wire, between Heated Oxygen sensor 1, Bank 2 and ECM. (Must check and confirm)
- Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S).
- Engine control module (ECM).

Don't know about 999 but the flashing light could be misfire, a clogged cat, cracked head. Take it and get the codes off of it. Last time I saw this on a dodge it was a cracked cylinder head#5 I believe.

Check engine light comes on and off, these are indication that there is some error code stored in your vehicles ECM. The engine module computer needs to be scanned. These will give the code and as per the error code the further problem can be detected and confirmed. The engine light indicator blinks or remains steady on dash when engine computer noticed any problem with any engine electrically operated components.

I suggest you replace the EGR valve position sensor.

Are you sure you have EGR flow?? Hold the EGR valve open the engine should run poorly, if not you have no flow.

It sounds like you just have a service engine soon light. This is built in to the ECM just to remind you of scheduled maintenance service.
There are no error, or fault codes to be concerned about with this light.

a service engine soon(SES) light, malfunction indicator light(MIL) or check engine light coming on means you have one or more error codes in the powertrain control module(PCM). these will need to be scanned or read with an OBDII code reader to determine what the problem is. most likely an emissions sensor has failed. but this could be any of a dozen or more sensors or meters causing the light to come on, and once you have the error code you need to pinpoint the failed part. hope this helps, good luck!
