Check the fluid in your steering pump. Refill it and look for leaks in the hoses that attach to it. The immediate problem is that you are low in power steering fluid.

Hi there my car is a polo classic model 2005 m having a problem of the there steering light i try to put the steering oil but still is there please help.

Try this..... Put key into ignition and turn so lights come on (facia).. Do not start car... Turn the steering wheel left to right 90° approx a few times. This will be quite hard to do.
Then turn off ign and restart as normal.
If steering wheel light has gone out and steering is working you will need a new motor drive at some point.
Note.. Sometimes the fuse blows so check fusebox and replace if necessary.

Replaced powersteering hose and now the truck wont turn over

If you filled the power steering reservoir with the proper fluid (usually ATF), you should let the engine run for a while and try to turn the steering wheel a bit in either direction.
The wheels will hop a bit, you will feel like the power steering isn't working for a while, then it'll start working again and so on. Keep turning the wheel lock to lock until it works smoothly.
Keep an eye on the fluid level as you may need to refill the reservoir a couple of times as the fluid will be distributed in the power steering system.
Observe any strange sounds coming from the power steering pump and make sure not to keep the steering wheel turned to the limit as it may hurt the pump.

Transmission problem

My opinion is strain yes damage no. You know when you turn the wheel all the way to one side the tires are "grinding" into the pavement this causes you to give it a little extra gas to get the car to move...right? But I don't think that would cause damage. If I'm wrong then you have the worlds' worst engineered car!

Turning lock to lock as you describe is making the steering pump work hard since the wheels are stuck to the pavement.

I'm calling it B.S.

Cannot get key to turn in jeep. Have already driven it numerous times today, suddenly can't move steering wheel or gear shift and key will not turn. Help!

Try turning the steering wheel (hard) right and left while turning the key. Steering lock , and ignition lock work in conjunction with each other.

Steering Wheel noise on cold start

this is either a loose belt, or low power steering fluid. Remember that Honda uses a diffrent power steering fluid from everyone else. Make sure it is a Honda compatable fluid, or you will get leaks.

I HAVE A 2000 JEEP GRAND CHEROKE AND MY STEERING COLUMN HAS LOCKED AND THE KEY WON'T TURN NOW. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING CAR ALL MORNING. HELP!

Did you try turning steering wheel hard one way or the other? If your parked with wheels cranked, get someone to try rocking vehicle back & forth a bit while you try to turn wheel in same direction they are cranked real hard, then try to cycle key.

Strange noise

Most likely the power steering system is a little low on fluid so it's pulling a little air when it's that cold. Check and see if that is the case and top the system up, should take care of the problem. Good luck
