DOES MY 2001 CHRYSLER VOYAGER 3.3L V6 FLEX FUEL HAVE A INJECTOR RAIL? We have had a lot of gas smell when idleing. the shop says the injector rail is leaking. I have looked online at Autozone and Oreilly's and they say their is not an injector rail replacement part.

Hi Wesrn,
Most indirect injection engines have a fuel rail which is common to all injectors. The common rail description is usually reserved for diesel engine vehicles. Your problem will in fact be a matter of having the rubber 'O' ring seals replaced at both ends of the injectors (where they fit into the fuel rail and where they fit into the manifold. You've rarely any need to replace the whole fuel rail.

2001 concorde has strong gas smell while idling and driving and reduced miliage.

Sounds like a leaking fuel injector. Could be facing a under the hood fire in near future if not fixed. Not safe to drive until fixed. Have it towed or hire a mobile mechanic. Don't drive it. Don't start it, unless you know what you're doing.

Pumping gas will not help. My guess is you have no fuel rail pressure due to bad fuel pump. Find shrader valve on fuel rail and test it for pressure.

Gas in oil, flooding, no power

Don't run engine. Loss of power can be from washed out cylinders from gas bath. Friction also increases and engine will seize.

Check fuel pressure at fuel rail for excess pressure. Dirty injectors can fail to close. They put a pressure gauge on system and then check for a bleed down.

You can borrow some tools from big autoparts chains.

Drain oil and change filter. Temperature controls on engine can fail and keep engine too rich.
