Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to check the latch. There is a small lever that you can push to unlock and lock the hatch. Try pushing it over and see if that helps.

I did this to my car once. Be sure the latch isn't closed as you are trying to close the trunk. With the trunk open pop the trunk once, then see if the trunk latches properly.

Hi my chrysler seabring is flashing the word DECK at me and beeping. what does this mean?

Some vehicles have a sensor that lets i know the the trunk lid is open ie the deck. Thier should be some kind of switch that is actuated by the deck and it may be faulty or just need adjusted,

Trunk will not latch

A lot of times the latch will get stuck in the lock position and not allow it to latch.Turn the key in the lock and make sure that the latch opens up. Sometimes you might have to help it with your finger or a screw driver.Please rate this reply so i will know if it fix's the problem. Thanks

I think I locked my keys in my trunk of my 2004 chrysler sebring convertibile? How can I get the trunk open. The trunk release button on the inside does not work.

Does the back seat fold down? If so you may be able to get into the trunk from the back seat. Check to see if a fuse is blown for the remote trunk latch. The owner's manual should help to see if there is a fuse for it.

Locked trunk

For some stupid reason Chrysler put a switch in the trunk that if tripped prevents it from being opened. You'll need to get into the trunk through the back seat. On the latch there is a small white switch. You need to move it to the unlock position. If you can find emergency release in the trunk that will open it and you can find the switch from the outside.

On the Sebring, there is a small switch on the trunk where it latches. Right in the middle, there is a small button you can push, which will allow the trunk door to shut. It just needs reset. Right where it goes down to lock at.

The trunk lock latch gets BENT... you need to bang it with a hammer, (or something hard) to line the middle switch back up with the latch. Do not over bend the latch--very light hitting will realign the middle piece back up.
