My 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee reverse light won't work and i think it's a internal problem. I have changed bulbs, test fuses and wiring all ok. Can the neutral safety switch can be the problem? or is there a reverse switch? if yes where is it located. Please help i have an inspection in two months. Thanks.

This is a common fault on this model. The switch is part of the valve body INSIDE the gearbox. An EXPENSIVE job for a simple problem. There could be a wiring work around but I don't know how legal or safe that would be. Best option is to suffer the pain and pay to get it fixed.

The switch is on the transmission..It is usually a dealer item but you can get one from Rockauto.com for about 1/4 of what the dealers charge.

Only right side reverse light does not work.

There is not any left or right reverse Light switch. It is only one switch for reversing light and it is fitted on the Transmission. If you do have the one working and the other not, first check the bulb if is ok,if not change it. If the bulbs are ok, check for any broken wiring.

Hi i have a 97 grand cherokee 5.2l and i have no reverse lights the bulbs are fine and it seems the fuses are fine aswel any ides ?

I think you have the reverse light switch usualy on the gearbox witch can be bad/doesn't work.
Thry findin it, it should be with only 2 wires and on the side of the gear box.

Brake light not working in a 2001 jeep grand cherokee

first check fuse, then check bulbs if not either of those then bad brake switch, which is located at the top of the brake pedal. I'm sure you're reading this thinking ok **** I know it's not the bulbs......I have a 99 that had no brake lights at all. Like a **** I didn't check the bulbs til last thing what's the odds of all 3 bulbs blowing at the same time. They were though, all 3 blown.

Brake lights do not work

There is a fuse for that. The changes that both rear break light bulbs broke is highly unlikely. Check the fuse if that's ok then go to the rear, remove both bulbs and check to see if the filliment is broken.

now if that's ok then you have faulty wiring/wiring harness

Tail lights 99 jeep grand cherroke limited

have you checked the bulb sockets to see if they are burnt or corroded sometime i see that the plastic melts around the contacts where the socket twists into the housing. if your lucky you might get away with replacing just the socket for the brake/running light bulb. but if it is too melted your most likely going to need a new housing
