I have a 94 ford probe, The radio works when it wants to.. but the prblem is the tail lights and dash lights went out about a week ago, Checked all fuses in car and under hood checked all light bulbs all were fine. all wiring looks fine, nothing burnt or broken inside dash and going to tail lights. I can't seem to figure out what else it could be. Already recieved a warning from the police I need this fixed asap and Can't afford to put it in the shop. WHat type of wiring would i need to run my own lights to back and use a toggle switch to turn them on and off from the battery?
The head lights work fine. It is the tail lights that don't work . I realize they are both turned on by same thing, but would one work and the other not if the switch was bad?The head lights work fine. It is the tail lights that don't work . think the wiring loom has shorted out ,just like a lot of ford cars from this era,the plastic on the insulation just dries out and cracks and fall off .
sounds like a bad starter,if the dash lights--radio--wipers work then most likely the starter went bad.A few years ago i had one and the starter cost then about $90.00
you have to check all fuses with a test light both fuse boxes under hood and under dash... if good next to look for is the light switch itself... has any radio work been done to the lately... if so alot of times hooked up wrong will blow park fuse as one of the wires to radio is the park voltage to tell radio to dim down some
I would check the wiring on the radio. Lot of cars (especially nowadays) the electricity like the lights and raido is hooked on there. If any of the wires went bad, or maybe even the radio would make it cause that.
So just remove the pannel around the radio
unbolt the radio
Pull the radio out and check all the wiring.
If the wires are not bad, maybe check to see if the radio is working.
