I am replacing the battery in my 1999 Nissan Altima. Both the local (100+ miles distant) Nissan service departments have told me there is not a security issue when replacing my dead auto battery, and that the battery will install without lights blinking and horn honking. However when I connect the ground, the horn starts honking. How can I install my new battery without the horn honking; or get the horn to quit honking.
Thanks - Mike S.

the whole service engine light soon is on for just about everthing did you check to see if your oxegen sensor was good when you do an oil change you can reset the miles that you went and when you reset it you see how much miles you get from the new oil
No. It's never a good idea to take your car to the dealer unless is a problem that falls under an electrical or physical malfunction that would be still under warranty. A standard oil change and tune up on a well maintained vehicle shouldn't run you over $100-$150 at most.
give this website a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local Nissan dealership in the parts department and they be able to print you off the pictures and diagrams you will need wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.
Have the sensor changed. When the vehicles computer senses an error in the transmission it puts the transmission in safe mode. Being that its a newer car you might check with your local nissan dealership and see if it is covered under warranty. Good luck:)
Any thing could be wrong. The best thing to do is to take it to Autozone or to a shop and have diagnostic test done on the car. Autozone does not charge to have it done and most shops will not charge you if they do the work.
