I am looking at a 1986 Chevy G20 van and wondering if anyone knows what it gets for mpg & any general information about its performance and reliability. It looks like a really clean van but I want to know what I am buying before I put money down.

I got that same van same year a couple years ago it has 305 5.0 engine and the body and everything was in great shape as far as little to no rust i have been putting it to the test to by overloading with tools and materials it gets good gas mileage and being loaded with pulling a loaded trailer it does great aside from losing power going up big hills i am currently putting it back to luxury and i have had no issues up until now and it was vacuum and spark issues that it down to the distributor that i have hard time finding the exact one from and i have hard time finding out About it but that is getting better i love it so glad i found it good luck

Poor mpg will be your find about 10 to 12 if a 8.50 ring gear is in the rear axle
