How do i replace the windscreen washer pump in my 2003 elantra

You have a blown fuse, check them all including the under hood or trunk fuse center.

Most likely the pump (motor) is gone and needs replacement. However, it is worth checking that fuse allocated to windscreen washer is intact. Furthermore, you may also need to check the wiring for flow of current at lever end (handle on the steering wheel) and wires connecting to pump on the water reservoir.

Jack & chock kerbside front. remove wheel and front part of wheel arch liner. disconnect supply pipes and wiring connector. withdraw pump (push-fit). catch washer fluid in bucket.

to replace reverse above.

Hardest part is removing liner as m/c screws will no doubt be seized. spray with wd to help.

check the windscreen washer strainer it could be glogged up or it coud be a faulty windscreen motor pump.

Well first of all you can check out the valve in the washer pump which changes direction depending on which washer you press and it can stick, so you just take the valve out clean it and the problem goes away until a bit of dirt gets in and the valve sticks again. I would follow the mechanics recommedations. I think he's taliking about the cam and crankshaft seals. Yes the water pump should be replaced as well. The pump that sprays windshield washer fluid onto the windshield is called the windshield washer pump. The water pump is on the engine and pumps water (coolant/antifreeze) through the engine to the radiator and heater core.

try taking a pin and cleaning the holes on the squirters and if that does not work check the washer pump it is located on the washer fluid tank

I suspect the pump is inside the reservoir. The link is for a Hyundai Elantra (2001-2006) and shows how to get to it for this model. Hope this helps!

I assume you access from underneath. Remove plastic shroud and expose reservoir and pump? right?

try runing direct power to the washer pump
