Just had a successful solution from this site so I'm going to try to solve my second problem here as well. I need to replace the seat belt retractor on my 2004 Ford Sport Trac, but I can't find one anywhere. Tried Amazon, Ebay, Craigs List, and sifted through the internet with Google searches. Anyone know where I can get one without going to Ford and paying 3 times as much? Thanks!

2013 Chrysler 200 my passenger side seat belt is stuck around the head rest.

If the passenger side seat belt in your 2013 Chrysler 200 is stuck around the headrest, it could be due to a variety of issues. Here are a few things you may want to try:
  1. Check the seat belt retractor: The seat belt retractor is responsible for pulling the seat belt back into the housing when it is not in use. If the retractor is faulty or stuck, it could cause the seat belt to become stuck. You may be able to fix the problem by gently pulling on the seat belt to try and free the retractor.
  2. Check for debris: There may be debris or a foreign object stuck in the seat belt mechanism, causing it to become stuck. Carefully inspect the area around the seat belt and try to remove any debris that you find.
  3. Check the seat belt latch: The seat belt latch may be faulty or stuck, causing the seat belt to become stuck. You'll want to check the latch for any visible damage or problems and try to release it.
If you are unable to fix the problem, I recommend having a qualified mechanic diagnose and fix the issue for you. Seat belts are an important safety feature and it's important to ensure that they are functioning properly.

2008 chevy uplander seat belt wont retract how do i fix it

Please check if your seat belt has "Retractors" or "Automatic Retractor".

Follow these steps to determine if you have a retractor system that will hold car seat securely or your seat belt won't retract as should be:

A. Pull belt all the way out.

b. Allow belt to retract about 6 inches (15 cm).

c. Pull out on belt again.

If belt is locked and you cannot pull the belt out any further, you have an Automatic Locking;

If you pull the belt again all the way out and won't return to normal operation, then the mechanism is damaged, but try first the "retractor" lock to be sure. By Federal Law, nobody will sale a seat belt in a junk yard, try the dealer or order thru the dealer the whole seat belt or the mechanism. I hope that is just a matter of the automatic retractor; you can see this information in your car's manual. Try and we will see.

How do I find diagram of seat belt retractor assembly mercury mariner

You never need a dealer except for warrantee
work

You do understand that any repair shop performs
the same services & better in most cases

You have to wrestle the buckle out where it should
be & then snap the belt to get the retractor ratchet
working

If the retractor fails, then you have to get a complete
new belt assy at dealers parts counter

I can't find a 94 corolla rh front seat belt retractor, is there a different year or model of toyota seat belt retractors I can use?

seat belts are not genuine but are made to toyota specs
unless there is a problem in the mounting point , most are a bolt on part to a bracket in the car
go to a wreckers that has toyota wrecks and get good belts from cars that have not been involved in front end collisions
most belts fit a range of years and models across toyota and similar shaped cabins

97 Chrysler Seabring Conv. 2.5 L eng. Seabelts (driver and pasenger) lock up and you can't pull them out to buckle. both seats at the same time. Fuses check out o.k. Local shops don't want to deal...

It sounds like a problem with the seatbelt retractors and/or timer modules to me. The seat belt retractors and timer modules are seviced only as an assembly and probably need to be replaced. The only place to purchase new units is the dealer. It may be difficult to find a dealer that can get them for you on a 14-year-old car. I have ordered replacements that old before, but had to settle for belts that didn't match the color of the original belts because that was all that was available. You will have even further difficulty because the seat belts in the convertible are different from all the other Sebrings. The seat itself must be disassembled for repair once new seat belt retractors are located.

Seal belts on both front seats (driver side and passenger side) will not pull out of the retractor. Don't want a fine for not wearing belt but it won't work. No one seems to know how to fix it. ...

No one can fix it!

Don't you find that odd?

You remove the plastic seat belt retractor covers,
on the floor by the "B" Piller

If you need to replace them, the retractors I mean, there
is a special GM Torx Driver Bit for seat belts

I would play around with them to see what the issues are

IF THEY HAVE AN AIR BAG INVOLVED e.g. SRS
System integrated into the seat belts, disconnect the battery
(before) you even think of going near the covers

There is a recall on this problem, so best thing to do is go to the GM dealer and have the seat belt replaced for free under the recall notice. Good luck and hope this helps. How do we fix front passenger side seat belt retractor on 1999 Ford Taurus? It will not pull out....

you may have to remove the bolt that holds the buckle to the floor. Try to push the belt into the retractor and see if it frees up.

I assume you are saying it is in the locked mode. It has an automatic lock mode for holding a child seat. When the belt is pulled all the way out, it goes into locking mode. You will hear it ratchet when the belt starts going back in.

Section 01-20A: Restraints, Active 1999 Taurus, Sable Workshop Manual
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Safety Belt, Lap/Shoulder The dual locking mode retractor on the shoulder belt portion of the combination lap/shoulder safety belt for the front seat passenger and rear seat outboard passengers operates in two ways:
  1. In the vehicle sensitive (emergency locking) mode, the shoulder belt retractor will allow the occupant freedom of movement, locking tight only on hard braking, hard cornering or impacts of approximately 8 km/h (5 mph) or more. The front and rear outboard seat belt retractors can also be made to lock by pulling/jerking on the belt.
  1. In the automatic locking mode, the shoulder belt retractor will be automatically locked and remain locked when the combination lap/shoulder safety belt is buckled and does not allow the occupant freedom of movement. This mode provides tight lap/shoulder belt fit on the occupant and on a child safety seat or infant carrier installation restraint.
  1. When the combination lap/shoulder belt is unbuckled and allowed to retract completely, the retractor will switch to the vehicle sensitive (emergency) locking mode.
sxh~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif WARNING: REAR-FACING INFANT SEATS SHOULD NEVER BE PLACED IN THE FRONT SEATS.
The automatic locking mode must be used when installing a child safety seat on the front passenger seat and rear outboard seats where dual locking retractors are provided
