depends on vehicle. but for most you just need a wrench to take tention off the tentioner and remove belt. it does help if you borrow a tentioner tool from local parts store.
replace belt tentioner its probaly bent theres also a kit to prevent this fro hapening but i recomend reguler tentioner first befor geting desperit lol replaced enough tentioners for the same issue
do not remove the fan. you have a automatic belt tensioner. look for small pulley to passenger side of fan. pulley will be attached tp leaver which is the tentioner. on the leaver in a 3/8 dive hole in it so you can attach a ratchet or braker bar in . once you in mount ratchet push or pull on ratchet to release tention hold back on tentioner and take belt off pay close attention to how the belt is routed.
Look at the front of the tenisinorthere should be a squre slot in it use a 3/8ths extention for a 3/8ths scoket wrerch with no socket the end of the extion should fit into the slot and push back against the preload of the spring this will release the tention on the belt and it will fall off Just remerber how to put it back on you might want to take a picture
You mean your belt tentioner, serpentine belt, it is not adjustable if your belt is coming off you have a bad tentioner, bad pulley or your power stering pump is leaken and your belt is soaked, if oilly firts found your leak (most common is a hose from reservoir to pump) then replace belt with a cheap belt (had lost of trouble with Life time or hi dollar belts), in the mean time also inspect your tentioner if ani play side ways replace it, also remove idle pulley and spun it close to your ear, if any noise replace it, you may get away with a single item changed, but for trouble free time, replace all items: belt tentioner ($38) idle pulley($25) serpentine belt ($25)
Hello there: Normally a serpentine belt will stay on tight untill it begins to strech out after it streches out to far the tention idler pulley cannot keep the belt tension tight any longer thus resulting in a belt either coming off or other things happening So what i would do is to first remove the serpentine belt and ensure that the tention idler pulley is working good make sure it does not just move freely than get a new belt and install now you should be ok Hope this is very helpful for you Best regards Michael
All u need to do is put a wrench on the tention pully and turn it clockwise... this will relive the tention take off the old belt ....put on new one. repeat relive pressure again ...slip it on pully... and relese tention..... done! :)
