Going down the road at 60 mph, lost response in the throttle, no power. Pulled over to shoulder, truck ran, but when pressing accelerator it backfires and spits through tailpipe. It starts but dies a few seconds later. When I restart it, it does the same thing. RUns a few seconds and dies. No power.

Timing chain may have skipped a tooth or maybe fuel pump has failed.

The first thing to try is a new fuel filter. There is sock filter within the fuel tank also, but it fails less often. If the engine has lots of miles, it may need a new O2 sensor although the codes should point that out if it were a problem.

SOURCE: 2003 Acura MDX, makes noise and vibration while driving.

If it happens with light accelleration then there's a good chance it's your torque converter. This is one of the few weak points with MDX

1992 olds cutlass supreme wont accelerate when pushing the gas pedal

Check oil first, Low oil sensor will shut down if more than a quart low. Change fuel filter, could be fuel starvation, change the air filter. stopped up air filter will put MAF sensor out of range. PERFORM OBDII SCAN SOON.

Why did my engine stop accelerating just stay at idle

Your accelerator pedal is bad. The IVS (Idle Validation Switch) is probably not shutting off, or the potentiometer in the pedal went bad.
Hopefully you do not have adjustable pedals as the pedal assy. can be expensive for those.

How do i do the drive cycle on a 1997 nissan pathfinder

The following drive cycle can be used as a guide to assist with re-setting monitors when a vehicle specific drive cycle cannot be located. This OBDII drive cycle begins with a cold start (coolant temperature below 122 degrees F and the coolant and air temperature sensors within 11 degrees of one another). This condition can be achieved by allowing the vehicle to "sit" overnight, and then by beginning the drive cycle the next day. Most drive cycles will be difficult to follow exactly under normal driving conditions, so the driver should exercise caution, road safety, and courtesy to others.
  1. . Start the engine. Idle the engine in drive for two and a half minutes with the A/C and rear defroster on.
  2. Turn the A/C and rear defrost off, and accelerate to 55 mph at half throttle.
  3. Hold at a steady speed of 55 mph for three minutes.
  4. Decelerate (coast down) to 20 mph without braking or depressing the clutch.
  5. Accelerate back to 55 to 60 mph at ¾ throttle.
  6. Hold at a steady speed of 55 to 60 mph for five minutes.
  7. Decelerate (coast down) to a stop without braking.

Blazer not responding to the accelerator, won't rev up

I'm actually going through the same thing, after i just had my fuel pump replaced. Mine turned out to be my Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF) which when not working properly has the same effects as your acceleration not working.
