To Drain and Fill Transmission is will take 4 quarts (3.8qts) use ONLY HONDA APPROVED TRANSMISSION FLUID. Honda has a patten on there fluid which includes an additive that is designed for there transmission. Other brands claim that there product is compatible. Use OEM fluid only. a COMPLETELY empty transmission holds 16 QUARTS of fluid.

1988 honda acura legend keeps leaking oil dont know where from

You need to have someone you trust to look under your car for leaks. For that amount of oil loss the leak should show a trail of oil.

There is a rear main seal and it is where the transmission and engine join. Often the oil pan is in the vicinity of this part. Perhaps the repair was misdiagnosed and you actually had a bad rear seal leak instead. Depending on how this style seal is removed, it may require separating the engine from the transmission. Or the repair did not last and you should go back to have it corrected.

If there is no leak under your car, then the oil is going somewhere. The valve seals are the next most probable place.

I hope my solution is helpful, please rate my info.

Where is the drain plug for the 2008 Toyota 4Runner located? Is it the one under the skid plate with removableaccess panel covering it or is it the the one further down which is close to the transmission?

The ENGINE drain plug should be there, but IF you dont know what you are doing, PLEASE dont guess. I had a guy do his own oil change, he drained the trans, and then put 5 quarts in the engine, needless to say, the transmission had NO OIL and the engine had 10 quarts, it ran for 10 miles until the trans siezed. only cost him $3500.00

How do you drain the transmission fluid from a 1988 acura legend coupe?

The drain plug is on the right side of the automatic transmissions towards the front. You will get 2 to 3 quarts out and need to get Honda approved fluid (which is really Dextron I). It is $8 a quart at the dealer and the Castrol version is half the cost.

Procedure for fluid change and filter 9/89 acura legend

The oil filter is a twist-on for this year and is near the passenger front tire. There is room for an oil filter wrench but it may come off by hand. The drain plug is in the center of the pan facing the rear of the car. Add 4 quarts and check.
If you change the transmission fluid only use Honda approved. You won't get too much out of an automatic, but it would extend the life of the trans.

How many quarts of oil do i put in 1999 acura cl 3.0

4.6 QUARTS PER SERVICE MANUAL. DONT FORGET TO USE OIL THAT IS SPECIFIC FOR HONDA. HONDAS AND ACURAS ARE CRAZY WITH HAVING TO HAVE HONDA OIL, HONDA COOLANT, (50/50 WATER, COOLANT) AND HONDA FILTERS AND HONDA BRAKE OIL AND POWER STEERING FLUID. I HAVE FOUND THAT USING HONDA FLUIDS CAN STOP A LOT OF PROBLEMS AND PREVENT DAMAGE.

Burns through 1 quart of oil every 2000 miles.

After checking out alot of Honda/Acura forums I'm finding that many owners experience the same problem you are having. The best explanation I found was at 2carpros:
http://www.2carpros.com/forum/94-acura-legend-burning-oil-vt7734.html
From what I'm reading, only way to stop the oil loss is a new engine. If your car is running fine, I'd hesitate to change anything with the engine and stock up on oil.
