there is no way to over ride the leveling system, there is a shut off switch, but if shut off in time the air will be depleted out of the system and will bottom out the suspension and cause damage to other components and also the vehicle will be riding very low to the ground, leaving the leveling sensor without repair will in time the air ride pump. hope this helps
Sounds like your air ride suspension is either leaking air in the air bags, air lines, etc, or the compressor is not working. If your truck is still under warranty take it to the dealership to get it fixed or with a good mechanic. If it is an air bag or the compressor start checking online for any good, cheap parts because parts for this SUV run expensive.
try turning the air ride compressor off and letting it go all the way down then turn it back on and see if it fixes it. the switch is either on the right hand kick panel or in the cargo area. if this does not fix it but the vehicle does lift up it is more than likely the level sensor causing the problem it is attached to the suspension.
Remove battery, remove windshield washer bottle, remove air compressor and disconnect both air lines from the compressor dryer. Make sure compressor electrical wiring is plugged in, install battery, turn suspension switch to ON, turn ignition switch to the ON position, close all door and the compressor should come on and completely lower the whole truck. Once the truck is completely down, turn the ignition OFF, remove battery and connect both air lines. Install battery ensure electrical wiring is plugged in, turn ignition switch to ON, the compressor should come on and raise the vehicle to the correct ride height.
i have 2003 lin nav and the fron pass. is down i have a new compresser and relay it worked for one day them stopped. i bypass to the compresser to let the truck up then turn the switch off but the front still go down and the compresser dont come on by itself, help. i think they should have a recall on this to many people with he same problem
The FX is a bouncy car, but it's necessary to accommodate it's good performance. You can try some aftermarket air shocks, or check into different tires. That should help.
