If the you hear a clicking noise when starting it usually caused by the solenoid attempting to engage, but not getting enough power to do so. You may want to check your battery cables to make sure they're tight. Before doing this disconnect the battery cables make sure the clamps are clean. Check the battery connection to the starter to make sure it's clean and tight. Check the battery connection to ground to make sure the connection's clean and tight. Then reinstall the battery cables. If this doesn't work have the solenoid on your starter checked. Many auto parts will test parts for correct operation free of charge. When a starter with an attached solenoid is changed the solenoid whould be changed at the same time.

I would check all the wires going down to the starter. Make sure it is getting 12V. Make sure your wires on the starter are connected tight and they are none that is loose. The starter may not be contacting the flywheel. You might have a piece missing, causing it to slip. Check your starter solenoid. You could try the ignition fuse, it wouldn't hurt. I would check all the wires first. If it is not getting 12V all the time, it is not going to run right. You might have a loose wire down there somewhere. Mia, check all your connection ends. Make sure all the starter wires are connected. May be one loose. Mia, if you need anything, please let me know. I am here to help. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

2001 chevy blazer randomly won't start....no click or anything.....then will randomly will start

See if it has the double stacked positive cable ends at the battery, Sometimes one won't make a good connection, 1 goes to the starter the other feeds the rest of the electrical system, Also check make sure your ignition switch isn't going bad, NOT the key and tumbler but the electrical switch itself...Make sure your starter wiring is tight also..

I got a chevy s10 v6 2001 and it wont crank

If it won't crank, then either your battery is dead, your starter relay is bad, bad starter, or dead battery. Lots of people confuse "cranking" with starting. Cranking truns the engine over, so if it won't crank, then you have a starter system problem.

I have a 2001 chevy blazer that has a short that causes the battery to go dead within 8 hours of sitting. If I pull the 50 amp "RAP" fuse & the 15 amp Radio fuse it will not drain the battery. What do...

BATTERY VOLTAGE CAN DRAIN THROUGH STARTER RELAY OR BAD DIODE IN THE ALTERNATOR.I WOULD REPLACE THE STARTER RELAY.I AM LOOKING AT A ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM.YOU HAVE A 40 AMP IGNITION FUSE THAT FEED THE STARTER RELAY.IF STARTER RELAY HAS A SHORT IN IT.IT COULD DRAIN THE BATTERY.
