2003 trailblazer passenger mirror pivot broke? When trying to pivot the mirror in, something let go or broke. The mirror now flops around and can be lifted right off the pivot pole. I can see a spring that is rolling around inside the mirror housing. Is this fixable or do I have to replace the entire mirror?

Grab one at the junk yard, cheap. If you don't have turn signal lights in your mirrors, grab a pair off an Envoy. Plug and play right into the master door switch. The heated mirrors work with the defrost button for the rear.

Fit a new unit, The part that has snapped is probably a tiny leg of plastic that is irreplaceable and not repaireable.

SOURCE: replacing spare tire winch 2004 chev trailblazer

I have a '02 TrailBlazer and I had the same problem. When I got a flat and went to change the tire on the side of the road I was not able to get the tire off the winch. Luckly, I have AAA and the driver knew the trick to getting the tire free. The process involved lowering the tire as far as it would go and then kicking it. Wind back up and repeat until the winch free's itself.

When I took the car into the shop to get the tire fixed and the have the spare put back on the car, they were not able to get the winch free enough to put the tire back on. They said that is is a common problem with this mechanism and suggested replacing the winch system (estmated parts and labor $215). From what I can tell the winch accumulates rust up in the cable and locks up.

SOURCE: Im trying to replace the passenger mirror, need to

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Once the panel is off, you will see two or three bolts securing the mirror assembly onto the door

Testimonial: "Thank you so much. I just wasnt sure were the bolts were inorder to get off. That helped me a lot thanks!!! "

Power mirror switch knob broke off on 2003 trailblazer

I was told I needed a new module on drivers side - I took it out and took it apart and cleaned the contacts in it with a spray electrical component cleaner and put it back together and it works just as it did before - saved 200 dollars not replacing something that wasn't broken!

Passenger side windows, door locks, power mirror. on 2003 trailblazer dont work

The electrical functions on this car that you have mentioned are controlled by a module called the Body Control Module or BCM for short. Whenever a malfunction like this occurs you need to have the dealer or a well equipped shop hook up an electronic system scan tool, it will actively test the systems of the car and return fault codes indicating where to start the diagnosis of the electrical problem, in your case that can be the wiring to the door or the BCM is malfunctioning. I would be inclined to think the wiring is at fault here..

How to install replacement passenger mirror on 2003 Chevy Trailblazer? I already have mirror.

There is a small triangular door panel piece near the mirror. Remove it and remove the 2 or 3 bolts holding the mirror. Remove inside door panel. Unplug/replug electrical connection.Reinstall in reverse order.
Should be easy even if you're not a dexter with tools.

Passenger side view mirror broke and trimming around window

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door.

As for the trim, you should just be able to wedge it back in place into the door

Passenger side mirror

yea. both my mirrors started flopping around like they were not latched or something..
i finally took them apart like you said.. (the screw driver and the wire retainer clips.. )
then i discovered the spring that holds it in place hooks on to a spring hook flange tine casted into the mechanism's frame structure. and that tine was bent over and cracked on both sides.
when i bent it back with the screwdriver, i discovered it was an amazingly hard metal alloy, but it was an engineering failure so i wasn't going to put it back together in that condition.

so i broke the tine completely off
then i wrapped a coat hanger wire around the end of the structure and extended a loop of coat hanger wire into the spring well and hooked the spring to it. i'm not sure if that's the problem you are having but i wanted to post the solution i am trying to at least give people an idea or 2 .. i feel confident that it will hold at least till the hook on the other part of the mirror frame cracks off the same way. i guess it was a bad batch of metal. that metal was hard
