Your particular actuator will be a different one than they found.
They're all a absolute pain to get at because they can be well buried in the dash. I would start looking under the dash on the passenger side, that's where most of the air control is. Cannot get any air from dash vents while defrost and floor vents work fine...
there is vacuum lines that operates door panels in the dash to switch from a/c to defrost i think something came loose or you had something fall throgh vents to stop the door from operating correctly.you need to take the glove box panel out and watch the lever as you switch from defrost to a/c.
The A/C module placed inside central console has air flaps for air flows guiding against center, lateral, lower, defrost - air vents. Air flaps are acting by electrically motorized mechanisms. Here you must search for damages!
if the motor is running fine and there is no air flow, the blade or squirrel cage fell off or came loose on the shaft so the motor is spinning but the blade isnt
There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.
The directional door or actuator thereof is inoperative. This door moves when you choose a vent at the selector, and directs the air to the desired vent(s.) When the actuator goes bad, loses vaccuum, or an electric door motor fails, the air will go to a default position that is usually the defrost. Since you are stuck at the dash vent position, closer inspection at the door itself is required. Could be a stuck door or actuator; or less likely, a faulty controller.
