Hi the air con button does not illuminate and compressor is not kicking in, found the relay in aux box , energized it and compressor worked ok, any ideas please? thanks stuart
Before going hitech check system pressures, pressure switches and ofcourse fuses. comp will work once energised even with no freon in system. a/c module can go bad but rarely.

Unfortunately air con units are pressurised with a volatile gas which over time "leaks" out and eventually stops cooling any air .you will need to have it re gassed or repressurised...ballpark figure is about £75 to have done but you may find someone who can do this cheaper.system need re gassing every so often.
Yes , there is a relay . It is energized by the PCM - engine computer . When you push the A/C button on the climate control panel ,it sends a voltage input to the BCM or strait to the PCM .When the PCM see's this it will energize the relay ,if it see's the correct input from the high an low pressure switch . The Trainer 40 When the compressor won compress
Think about this:
Can you supply voltage to the clutch to engage it? Remove the connector and use wire to directly energize the clutch. The only thing that I'm unsure of is whether it is 12 volts.

Hi,
Looks like the A/C compressor relay is faulty!
You could locate it in your fuse and relay box in the engine area, try to replace it withe the same type.
Hope that helps you out!
The compressor should only run until the rear suspension reaches the desired height. If it continues to run after the suspension has raised to ride height then you may have a leaking air bag/solenoid or line. If you dont have any leaks it is possible the EVO(air suspension module} or relay is at fault.
I have just managed to fix the blower in my 2004 Ford Focus. Only worked on number 4 which cuts out the AC. Garage quoted me £40 for part and £40 for labour. I brought a second hand resistor from these people (very helpful and only £10 plus VAT) http://www.breakeryard.com/view_supplier_feed...
. Arrived next day. To replace the old one you just remove the 3 screws under the glove box and pull the box out. In front of you will be a big barrel which is the fan. To the bottom right of this you will see the old resistor. This is held in by one screw. Remove this and pull out the fixed wires. Put in the new part, re attach the wires and put the screw back. Job done. Should take about 15mins. Hope this helps somebody somewhere
