Is there a way to by pass the crank sensor on a 1997 Honda Accord EX 4 clyinder (F22B1)? I changed the motor on the car due to a bad block. The new motor (1996, F22B1) does not have a crank sensor bolt pattern, therefore I put the motor in thinking it would start up without using the crank sensor. The car is not starting up, also I'm not getting any sparks. Can the reason being is the crank sensor and is there a way to by pass the problem?

In short no there is absolutely no way to bypass a sensor that picks engine rotations.

No
You will need to change the Hubs THEN the brakes to fit the hubs.
But changing the brakes only will NOT change the pattern

is it in the starter or the trans? In the starter, replace the starter. In the trans, you may need to have someone repair the threads with helicoil, or you can put some locktight on the bolt, get it fairly tight, and it should set up.

Just put a vtec f22b1 swap in a 91 honda accord ex with an ss header pupe and the idle keeps gping up and down answers please

check the wiring and connectors . because you have altered the exhaust gas flow there may be a conflict between the HO2s and O2 sensors and the MAF/VAF sensors . I would try resetting the CPU program with a scanner and if that doesn't work you may have to get some one with a computer to reprogram the CPU to suit the new set up.

2004 honda accord EX V6 102K. Missing at take off and malfunction indicator light on 4 days after mechanic changed timing belt, water pump, serpentine belt. Car ran great - never a problem prior to this...

your crank sensor could be going bad, it could have a bad connection or damaged harness-the chances that there is an issue with the crank itself is a little too far fetched, unless the mechanic thinks there might be something wrong with the reluctor, which is what provides the crank sensor with a signal-that too is kind of rare. I am just guessing here, but I think it's time for another mechanic-he was just THERE when he did the repairs, and now he wants to repair/replace the crank due to a crans sensor code??? You are right, something smells.
