I have a 1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer, having problems with many of the lights. When I turn on the headlights, the signals dont work and neither do the low beams. The signal lights in the dash remain on and signals dont work. Also the interior dash lights go off and on randomly; many times after hitting bumps or holes in the roads. The fog lights also work intermitantly as well.

http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size. Under system click on lighting then under subsystem click on thing's your having problems with . See if they share a common grounding point or a connector in the wiring harness ,power supply etc.... Check by wiggling connections , wiring harness etc.. till you find were you can make the lights go on an off .

The headlamp switch will cause the lamps to turn off. The switch heats up and turns the headlamps off. It will cool down and work for about 10 minutes and cut out,

2007 ford explorer interior lights work then do not then work

if the problem is happening only when the door is open, it could be a bad connection in the door jamb switch that turns on the lights when you get in.

If it comes and goes while you are driving, the problem could be in the headlight switch/light dimming knob.

loose connection or faulty switch is my guess here.

Fender brake lights not working

You should probably check the multi-function switch. This is the turn signal switch assembly. The brake lights on most all vehicles, are routed through the turn signal switch, and then go to the rear of the vehicle. This is done because the brake light bulb on many vehicles is used as a turn signal bulb as well, and there has to be a way to break the connection from the brake light circuit to allow the turn signal to operate on the same bulb. Use caution when checking or removing the multi-function switch assembly, as you must remove the protective cover from the steering column, and there is an air bag harness located inside. If in doubt, always refer to the manufacturer's service guidelines for making any repairs in or around the steering column.
