The only thing that makes sense to me is the engine is detecting a misfire . Check to see if the wires may have got crossed up. Spark plugs are very delicate ,and it is not unusual to by a bad spark plug..put the engine in gear and with hard brake pressure ,accelerate the engine lightly and see if you can hear a misfire or vibration
IT could be something such as a loose plug wire.The best advise I can give you is to take your jeep to your local auto parts store and have them pull the codes out of your on board computer.This will give you an area that you can concentrate on to make the necessary repairs to get your check engine light to go out.
Read the codes by turning the ignition on and off 5 times with out starting the jeep and the fifth time leave the ignition on the check engine light will flash a code. example: 2 flashes and space the 5 flashes would mean a P0 25 code
