Are you certain that it's the clutch assembly?
Check the idler pulley. Poor tension in the idler pulley spring will cause the belt to squeal AT THE ALTERNATOR, and it may sound like it's coming from the AC.
The AC pulley typically "freewheels" when the AC is not on and the engine is running.
Have someone turn the AC on and off while the engine is running and watch the operation of the AC clutch. If it's working properly, the clutch should "click" and the back part of the pulley should start turning or try to turn.
If the squealing noise continues when the clutch is freewheeling, it's probably the idler pulley. If the AC Pulley won't start freewheeling, it's probably the clutch.
To remove the clutch system,

  • disengage the idler pulley and remove the serpentine belt from one of the pulleys.
  • rent, purchase or borrow a puller from a local auto parts retailer (Auto Zone and O'Reilly auto parts are both helpful)
  • some of the clutch systems have retaining bolts, some are just pressed in, figure out what you have before removing the clutch assembly using the puller.
  • The puller is also designed to help put the NEW clutch assembly back on the shaft.
The idler pulley assembly is a lot easier to replace.

Unfortunately most places won't sell the compressor kits and it is usually about the same price to replace the compressor. I can double check later this evening when I can access my guides.

i think you need a new compressor which is why the belt was left off ,also the gas is the main lubricant for the compressor as well so running it with no gas hasnt helped either ,best of british with it anyway

98 jeep GC limited, my jeep does not wont to stay crunk in the mornings when its cold outside i have to hold the gas down so the rpms run in 3000 till it finally keeps it self crunk. the altnator is good...

the iac ( idle air control ) needs cleaned or replaced. it controls the idling of vehicle. Also, try cleaning your throttle body. It's probably quite filthy. you can use carb cleaner to clean iac. but do not put body of iac in any liquid, just clean the valve on end. do not push it in they are preset for proper idle. have a good day !!

My 1999 jeep cherokee belt squeals very loud when giving it gas and chirps a little when idleing

If you get the squealing noise even when car is not running, and if noise get louder when you push the accelerator pedal, then it is the serpentine belt.

You may need to put the belt in tension, or to replace it.

I have a 2004 Jeep GC. Check Enigine lights stays on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What code are getting after all those new parts?
and what engine do you have,do you know what the original code was, because one code can do a domino affect to other sensors,it doesn't make them all bad.
your problems could be a lot of things ,faulty crank and cam sensors, egr valve leaking vacume,or intake leak of vacume.playing hit or miss with parts is really expensive.

Overheating

First of all make sure there are no air pockets in motor.
Run vehicle with radiator funnel or if don't have one run with cap off until top hose is hot.
If top hose isn't hot then the thermostat is not opening, need to replace. and repeat bleeding procedure.
If it overheats it builds up pressure and causes overflow cap to relieve pressure.

WORST CASE SCENERIO:
water pump is bad not allowing enough flow through out the vehicle.

I have 98 durango the belt squeals and slips at idle turn off heater and increase idle and it stops is it the condensor ro alt?

You should check the condition of the belts. The belt tracks are porbably worn so sometimes they would tend to jump or slip. Check it out
