Where is coolant temp sensor located for a 01 lexus is300

It is located on the top front of the engine block.

Looks like this:



Lexus RX330 Coolant Temperature Sensor

On the end of the throttle plate shaft. On the opposite side of the accelerator cable.

Get coolant temp sensor checked.

Get the coolant pressure tested, its definitely leaking coolant. You will need to get the coolant running line.

Pressure test will help you to know from where exactly coolant/refrigerant is getting leaked.

Like almost every thing there can be a number of thing causing this. Checking the Ambient temperature sensor would be a good place to start. The sensor is located in the front bumper and can be tested with ohm meter. The next item that should be checked is the servomotor that is a little involved so let me know what happened with this temp sensor first. also check the plug and wires out to the temp sensor also.

its located on transm case upper side behind windshield area

temperature blend door actuator is the name and the little plastic gears has wore out you will need to replace two choices the lexus dealer or salvage yard you decide

coolant temp sensor is located on the bootom backside of the radiator. you will have to remove the front under cover to access it.

the unit locks shut when disc is installed. there is a tab on the front that you must slide to open position, when you do this disc will eject. when you install new one you must slide tab back to lock position

It's the Ballast. You have to pull the front bumper off to get at it. It's about $100 for the part. Good luck
