Have a 2005 hyundai terracan (same as sante fe) with 3.5 l v-6,have all covers and everything off, just need timing belt marks diagram to fit new belt.

if the belt only turns the a/c and you don't need it. then don't worry about it for now. I seen some cars have 3 belts for the pulley not sure if you have 1 or many belts. as for a shorter belt. you can do that only if the pulley is not going to be in the way. my guess it will be in the way if you have 1 long belt that drives everything. you didn't say which motor you have so I am going to guess its the 1 long belt. you want to try a shorter belt you will need the correct belt and the belt diagram and if the pulley is in the way your out of luck.
