My honda 2005 Ex accord developed a very slow acceleration problem. So bad that when l packed it and stay just for 1-2mins and start it again it will move itself once l release my legs from the break but once am on the road for a little acceleration, the transmission to the tyres seem disconnected so you here the engine accelerating but to output on the tyres. Also at the time the car had moved fro sometime and l stepped on the breaks to bring the car to a stop, when l take off my feet off the break the car will NOT even move itself at same time if l put the car on reverse the car will also not move itslf. Until l stop the engine and hold on for about 1-2mins the start it again, it will then move itslef. Mean while l have been seeing the Malfunction Indicator Lamp on my dashboard for sometime now. Please l need you help.

It sounds like the transmission is defective, it is slipping due to worn clutch packs.

SOURCE: Car stops moving in reverse gear

Sounds like the car is just slipping out of gear. Keep your hand on the shifter when you back up next time. See if you can feel the shifter move when the car comes out of gear. If the shifter moves up when it happens keep pressure on the shifter holding it back like you dont want it to move forward. And of course if the shifter moves back when it comes out of gear, put forward pressure on the shifter so it doesnt slip out. This might work for now but but i know i wouldnt want to spen 700 for that ****. Let me know how it goes.

IT sounds like your reverse gear is going out, or that you need to have filter replaced my best advise is have your transmission checked out by a transmission shop as soon as possible.

I have a honda accord 1990 ex carburator vitesse engine f20A.. transformed to carburator automatic .but ihave a problem a slow acceleration and high fuel consumption how can i fix this 2 problems?

Check your timing belt, when I changed mine the pick up increased drastically and the mileage was increased. Remember though that any honda will do better if you do a more gradual increase in acceleration.

Why won't my 2008 Honda Accord start?

If you can get someone to crank the car over for you, get a can of starting fluid and spray it into the air filter box, remove the filter and spray while cranking. If it starts for a few seconds and it wasn't doing that before u spray starting fluid in it then there's pretty much only 3 things it could be. Out of gas. The fuel pump is bad or the fuel pump relay. Although it could be the computer or jumped time. Hard to say without knowing the history and mileage

What can cause slow acceleration on a 90 honda accord ex

A whole list of things!!!!!! Start by checking the Vane Airflow Meter/Mass Airflow Sensor, then the Throttle Position Sensor. You need to find someone who is familiar with the Honda Diagnostic process to access your ECU and retrieve the codes for a more definitive diagnosis. It will save you a lot of headache, and money in the long run.

I have a 92 Honda accord Automatic Ex, the d4 light started off blinking then stopped, now it stays on continuously (together with P light). Causing rpm's to rev higher than normal. Does not feel as if it...

That is a fault indication for your transmission. I am not positive but I think that indicates a fault in your forth gear solenoid. Your transmission is not going to last very long driving it like that. When you stomp on the gas and it does not accelerate, your clutch discs are slipping and burning. It won't take much of that to ruin them. You may want to take it to a good Honda transmission place. I don't know about the older Hondas, but the newer ones don't have any provision for removing a pan and working on them. They don't even have a line replacable filter.
Check your transmission fluid dipstick. If its not a nice "bright" red color, you are probably burning up your clutches. The darker the fluid, the more contaminated it is.

1992 honda accord ex starts to accelerate on its own at about 40- 50 mph what could be the problem?

Check your engine mounts to make sure they haven't failed. The torque of the engine can, during acceleration, can cause the motor to twist slightly if the motor mount(s) are bad, causing the gas pedal linkage to move, increasing acceleration.
