Boot light showing open when not flashing on and off when driving how do i fix it

Could you possibly comment below with a photo of this light? I'm not sure if it is the boot lid light as that is usually the image of a small car with the boot lid open. Also the noise would keep going if the boot is open as that's it job. A Red light means it needs looking at as soon as you can as it is possibly something serious. Does it have any other marks, letters or symbols inside the shape? This can help identify it.

Might have broken wiring in one of the door switches. Check wiring that runs along the door frame. They are inside a rubber boot/insulation. Most common area where they break due to constant open/close.

The sensor is located and probably built into the boot latch. The sensor is good because the light goes off if you close it slowly. the latch is just worn out with that particular part. Replace the latch. It is not hard to replace if you have a few hand tools.

It sounds like there is a faulty sensor, as your trunk is not opening without the key I would suggest its your trunk/boot sensor.
As a safety feature the cars roof will not move if the trunk/boot is open.

This switch is located on the door latch inside of the door. This is a common problem and the dealer may have issued a recall for this problem, and may even fix it for free. If not then any decent mechanic can fix this for you.

Alarm system is detecting a fault. It could be a door latch sensor gone wrong, and it should show a door ajar light while driving, or the hood or trunk sensor disconnected. Most alarms are designed to "arm", even if it detects an open door.

Be sure that the back door is really closed. Close it quite hard and check. I've heared of others with this problem, and they had to close their back door harder...

try cleaning the lock itself then lubricating it and work the { boot / trunk }until it works in a bit ...does it appear as if it needs an adjustment ..as you close it do the lock and the striker match up within a reasonable catch distance otherwise an adjustment can be made .

the light will stay on if the switch does not make the necessary closed position allowing the circuit to remain open .again this would require an adjustment

has the vehicle been in an accident or the trunk disturbed to cause this ?

if not perhaps the switch itself needs an adjustment or is worn can the switch plate be lowered by bending the plate or can you adjust it otherwise .
