I have a 2003 Vw Jetta Gt. My keyless entry remote stopped working a couple of days ago. I have 2 so I tried to use the other one but it didn't work either. I changed the batteries in both and I also checked the fuses for the lock system but they still won't work. Is there a sensor in the car that might need to be replaced? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

KEY WORDS to search for are
2003+VOLKSWAGEN+remote+receiver...

or "keyless+module"

I only got hits back from eBay (& AMAZON)...
which would indicate this is a fairly ROBUST part...
(TYPICALLY: really popular parts = high failure rate).
((in my opinion))

No direct
(part number) hits...!!

Look here... Appears to be inside the center console
(surmised without proper documentation)

Looks like
VW VOLKSWAGEN OEM Phaeton Keyless Entry Receiver for Key Fob Remote...

also...
VW VOLKSWAGEN OEM Phaeton Keyless Entry Receiver for Key Fob Remote...

Possibly AMAZON... (use your own module number)
EXAMPLE
Amazon com 2003 jetta keyless module

Hope I am helping...

Sorry... I first thing I should have offered was to "re-train" your remotes...

    Check the OWNERS MANUAL... (below).

SOURCE: How do I change the temperature sensor under the

It’s located on the driver’s side of the engine on top /side of the head.. midway.. I don’t think you need to remove the engine cover to see it.. if it is the correct one it will have a dark green top.. the bad version has a black top… but they can all go out to lunch on you if old enough.

To replace.. make sure the car is cool..
You need a hood tool.. or small pair of pliers to remove the retaining clip that holds it in place.
Place a rag under and around it to catch the coolant.. you will lose less than a half a cup.. if that.

Pull the retaining clip back toward you.. try not to drop it.. (another good reason for the rag)

Wiggle the sensor.. pop it out.. and replace with the new green top one make sure you clean the area well.. and when you reinstall the new one that the c clip goes back on straight or it will leak.

Once you see the part out of the box.. you will understand how it works

Start the car.. check for leaks.. run until warm with the heater on.. top up the coolant overflow bottle with distilled water.. (if more than a half a cup.. you should mix the proper anti freeze and distilled water and then top up with that)

Good luck

SOURCE: programming a keyless entry remote

Key Fob Auto Learn
This procedure will first erase all known key fobs. The procedure will then program a single or multiple key fobs. Method 3 is a series of three 10-minute key cycles, for a total of 30 minutes. This procedure requires that you have a replacement key fob and the vehicle mechanical key.

Important: All previously programmed key fobs will be erased upon completion of the 30-minute programming procedure. The order in which the key fobs are programmed will determine its numbering position within the RCDLR memory. The first key fob programmed will be key fob #1, and the second key fob programmed will be key fob #2. The number stamped on the key fob case is for reference only: #2 can be programmed as #1.
Do not place any known good key fobs in the vicinity of the vehicle when programming.

The vehicle must be OFF.
Place the replacement key fob in the console pocket with the buttons facing forward.
Insert the vehicle key in the driver door lock cylinder located in the driver door handle and cycle the key 5 times within 5 seconds.

The DIC will display a message: OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button.
The DIC will display a message: WAIT 10 MINUTES, then it will count down from 10 to 0, one minute at a time.
When the counter reaches 0, DIC will display OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Repeat steps 5-7 two more times, for a total of 30 minutes.
The DIC will display a message: OFF/ACC TO LEARN.
Press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button.
A beep will occur and the DIC will display: READY FOR FOB 1. At this time all previously known key fobs have been erased. When fob 1 is programmed a beep will be heard and the DIC will display a message: READY FOR FOB 2.
Additional key fobs can be programmed by taking fob 1 out of the pocket and inserting fob 2. If desired, up to 4 fobs can be programmed. Once 4 fobs have been learned, the DIC will display a message: MAX FOBS LEARNED, and automatically exit the program mode.
If learning less than 4 key fobs, press the OFF/ACC portion of the ignition button to exit the program mode.
Operate the active portion of each key fob in order to finalize the programming sequence and verify correct system operation.

Good luck and hope this help's keep me posted, there are 3 other methods and the 5th method is a tech 2 scan tool that the dealer uses but this should work on your year of cadillac.

VW Jetta keyless entry remote not working

newer remotes just pull apart, no screws

first detached the half with the pivoting key
just pull that half away from the other half

on the half without the key attach
it splits apart to expose the battery (usually a 2032 watch battery)
you may need a small flat head screw driver to help to split it apart
