Engine management light volvo s40 problem

I have problem with my volvo s40 2000 my engine management light does not go off.I checked my car in a garage and they gave me this code(005d ecm 5d reset valve camshaft) can any one please help me on this matter. The garage man told me that your car need a new camshaft sensor.Could you please tell me that my car need camshaft sensor or something else. THANKS

The best thing is to go to your local Volvo maintenance shop or Volvo experts to find out whats the problem..usually the coomon ones I think is the programs inside its ECU unit..you try this..ask the volvo experts to reset the ECU and lets see..if problem arise then it is no doubt you might need the sensor..hope this help..

    If your trying to save money go to the junk yard and pull 1 or 2 sensors and buy a book a Chilton manual for your car at your auto store it will help you find and install the sensor.

you need someone with an obd scanner to read the engine management light this will then give you the error code to tell you the problem its picking up.

Engine management light stays on car dries great been well serviced no unusual knocks
something like O2 sensor will cause the check engine light stay on, not too worries,or you may take it to dealer did a service.(the light may stay on on that year model even after service.)

Engine management light
my car volvo s40 2000 had problem with engine managment light. I took it to the garage & they did dignostic check and the problem was(reset the camshaft valve)he gave me the part nomber and i put new part in ad problem solved.i do not know the name of part but this part is next to the spark plugs on right hand side,its got 4 bullts and the wire pluged in to it. It might be not problem with your car becaus macanic told me that this is not the common foult with s40, with yor car it may be sensor. good luck
