Depending on what engine you have: Replace plugs, cap, rotor and check the coil pack. May be as simple as a bad sparkplug.

misfires are more from faulty injectors / leaking injectors so check the codes as the misfire code will indicate the problem cylinder
exampl code p0300 is random misfires and codes p0301 through to p 0308 is the cylinder ie p 0303 is no 3 cylinder

Dirty fuel injectors. Computer will show misfire on the cylinders that are malfunctioning. If injector cleaner in tank won't clean them, pull them all out and have a professional take them apart and cleaned. Each injector has a screen in it that can get plugged up. Think about Bro, all other stuff has been renewed.

P0300 is a multicylinder misfire code and p0301 is a cylinder no. 3 msfire code. Check your spark plugs and plug wires.

the front wire & plugs are easy , the rear three are a little harder but not impossible. just do each one at a time.
