Obviously the torque was incorrect replace parts and torque too 90lbs make sure tensionor is operating properly.. the belt routing diagram should be under you hood somewhere

Timing marks are always on the harmonic balancer,that;s what the pullys blot to that drive your belts.Once you've found said marks by turning the crankshaft pullys by hand,using the belt to do so,scribe said proper timing mark with a white paint pen.Match that mark with the tab on the engine block at the harmonic balancer.Pacience my friend.
The Harmonic balancer is held on to the front of the crank shaft with a bolt. there are pullys pressed onto the harmonic balancer in rubber.If more pulleys are needed for more accessories they are bolted to the harmonic balancer.
yes besides causing a vibration while driving and possible throwing belts the balancer out of balance can cause problems with the lower end crankshaft such as seal leaks ,bearings and if breaks off or apart can cause damage to engine and body
i have a 1998 caravan my harmonic balancer fell off my qquestion is is there 2 separate keys that hold on the timing gear and the balancer pulley on, i have been to the dodge dealer and they printed me out pics but i still don't know for sure if the timing gear has it's own key or there is just 1 long key that holds both the timing gear and the balancer ......PLEASE HELP
you have a pulley locking up that is breaking belt. with belt off spin pulleys by hand and feel for anything abnormal. wobbles, sticks or bind. due this for all pulleys ran by that belt u will find your problem
You own a mini van. These creations were designed by engineers to drive mechanics crazy! :-( Everything is designed with little or no access. The alternator on your van is made of aluminum (so it's silver). It is located near the crankshaft harmonic balancer. If you look at the harmonic balancer, the alternator will be at the 10 o'clock position. It is on the passenger side of the engine, behind the engine block. One of the fan belts goes to it. The pulley on the alternator has a belt on it. Follow the fan belt which goes towards the rear of the engine. Charlie PS You may have to get under the van to remove it.
