How to cancel the service warning - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

what vehicle have you got? sounds like a french car like peugeot if so it means that the service is overdue. or a engine managment problem.if you need to cancel the service warning hold the trip button in then switch on the ignition wait until the counter on the instrument pack goes to zero then release and switch ignition off if its a engine problem then you need help to get the fault codes out of the engine controle module

not knowing what vehicle you have is not easy to answer this question. most vehicles have a service warning on the instrument pack it uses distance and time to calculate when a service is due. most you can cancell using the instrument pack function buttons/switches some you need diagnostic equipment. just doing the relevant service will not put out the service warning you have tell the instrument pack that it has been done. if its a fault warning thats a differant thing and needs a obd code reader to help sort it out. hope this helps

You would need a scan tool connected to the vehicle to clear the warning but there is no point unless the issue causing the fault light has been rectified. Without the fault being identified correctly and fixed the warning will come back on next time you drive the car.

The warning will self cancel when the problem that turned it on is repaired, there is no reset.

the service reminder gives info from the milage and date from the instument pack.if it is a not being cancelled thats why the warning is stil there make sure the car has been serviced properley

You need a service technician to cancel the problem codes.

did you have it seviced as the light is warning to tell you to sevice the car because the light will be cancelled when conected to the diagnosis computor

take it back to the shop and get them to do it as they have the gizmo

IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO THAT, THEY CALL IT A EUROPEAN PARKING LIGHT, THE CAR GIVES YOU A WARNING ALARM AFTER YOU TURN THE KEY OFF, REQUESTING YOU TO CANCEL TURN SWITCH.
