SOURCE: where are bank 1 sensor 1, bank 2 sensor 1, bank 1

bank one sensor 1 is the bank of cylinders that number 1 spark plug is located in, bank 2 the other side, this assumes u have a V8, the sensor one location is the sensors that are BEFORE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, the sensors referred to as sensor 2 are after the ones AFTER THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM.

Bank one is toward the front of the vehicle. Sounds like the heated oxygen sensors have gone bad. The Oxygen Sensors are located in the exhaust pipe and require a special socket to remove and replace.

Four wires (circuits) are used on each O2 sensor:

  • 12–volt feed circuit for the sensor heating element
  • Ground circuit for the heater element
  • Low-noise sensor return circuit to the PCM
  • Input circuit from the sensor back to the PCM to detect sensor operation

O2S Sensor removal Never apply any type of grease to the oxygen sensor electrical connector, or attempt any soldering of the sensor wiring harness.
WARNING: THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, EXHAUST PIPES AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER(S) BECOME VERY HOT DURING ENGINE OPERATION. ALLOW ENGINE TO COOL BEFORE REMOVING OXYGEN SENSOR.
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect O2S pigtail harness from main wiring harness.
3. If equipped, disconnect sensor wire harness mounting clips from engine or body.
CAUTION: When disconnecting sensor electrical connector, do not pull directly on wire going into sensor.
4. Remove O2S sensor with an oxygen sensor removal and installation tool.

02S Sensor installation
Threads of new oxygen sensors are factory coated with anti-seize compound to aid in removal. DO NOT add any additional anti-seize compound to threads of a new oxygen sensor.
1. Install O2S sensor. Tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N·m) torque.
2. Connect O2S sensor wire connector to main wiring harness.
3. If equipped, connect sensor wire harness mounting clips to engine or body. When Equipped: The O2S pigtail harness must be clipped and/or bolted back to their original positions on engine or body to prevent mechanical damage to wiring.

Hope thats help (remember comment and rated this).

SOURCE: I need to know which O2 sensors are which: Bank 1

bank one upstream oxygen sensor on exhaust manifold bank two oxygen sensor after catalytic converter.tell me what code you are getting.bank 1 sensor 1 fuel system is too rich fuel pressure too high fuel pressure regulator leaking or more than 1 fuel injector leaking. fuel contaminated.check spark plugs if black carbon color fuel system too rich. if you getting code bank 1 sensor 2 check for air leaks in the exhaust system, air leaks intake manifold.look for vacuum lines leaks, look for vacuum leaks pcv valve and hose and make egr valve not stuck open or gasket leak.

Is the p1135 sensor connector the same as the p1155 sensor connector?

Most likely not, they look the same but the plastic shell has a ridge coded into it that prevents hooking it up to the wrong sensor. I think you may have an issue with the O2 heater circuit, loss of ground or power.

Air sensor check engine light

Ok as a guess that you have a SUV and you have different air faults. if you are a DYI'er go to an auto parts store and get an error code tool. Harbor freight for $30-50. Hook it to the car and find out which sensor is it calling for. Note, you can reset the check engine light on most tools that are not the cheapest.

Check engine sign appeared on my 2001 avalon , code error p1155, please advise

Appears it is an Oxygen sensor error, they are located in the exhaust system, in the v6, that code indicates the second bank (but unsure which bank that is) Ideally you need to take the car in for service, or at least inspect the Oxygen sensors, the code indicates that teh heater element has failed.

Code p1155

P1155 Air/Fuel Sensor Heater Circuit. (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

Actually P1155 is pointing to a fault with the internal heater for the A/F Sensor (aka Oxygen Sensor) for Bank 2 Sensor 1. The PCM uses this internal heater to get the sensor to normal operating temps within a matter of seconds on cold starts. Replacing this sensor should solve your problem. This sensor is located in the front exhaust manifold.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

I have a p1155 error code on a 2002 toyota highlander. what should i do?

P1155: Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1) The sensor is on the Bank 1 throttle body with electrical connection. Its a delicate sensor. Unscrew it from the throttle body and check if its dirty, spray it with electronic cleaner with care. If its damaged, just replace it. If its not rectified, the car computer may default the air temperature to 20 degC and the air flow will not be correct and may have the following effect: 1. You might have difficulty in winter startups 2. Loss fuel efficiency (air/fuel ratio is messed up)/NOx problems/failed emission test/prematured catalytic converter replacement etc. CLARIFICATION An Air Fuel Ratio Sensor is also known as Wide Range Oxygen Sensor. Bank 1 Sensor 1 is mounted in the exhaust header before the Catalytic Converter (CC). The ECU uses the signal from the AF sensor to adjust Air/Fuel ratio. On V6 and V8 engines there is a second AF Sensor in the other header. (Bank 2 Sensor 1). After the CC there is a narrow range O2 sensor called Bank 1 Sensor 2. It monitors the CC. If there are two CCs there is a second O2 sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 2) The AF Sensor draws about 3 amps so check connections. The heater is a resistor between the B+ and HT terminals of the plug. On V engines there is also a AF relay to check.

The check engine light produced codes p1150 and p1155 on a 2000 toyota avalon xls.

All cars sold in the US after 1995 use the same on board diagnotics called OBD-II. The codes are the same. Search OBM-II error codes and you'll get a listing.

P1150 Air/Fuel Sensor Circuit Range/Performance. (cylinder bank 1 Sensor 2)

P1150 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
water or corrosion in the O2 sensor connector, loose terminals in the connector, wiring burnt on exhaust components, open or short in the wiring due to rubbing on engine components, holes in exhaust allowing unmetered oxygen into exhaust system, unmetered vacuum leak at the engine, bad O2 sensor or bad PCM.

P1155 Air/Fuel Sensor Heater Circuit. (cylinder bank 1 Sensor 2)
P1155 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: O2 Heater element resistance is high, Internal short or open in the heater element or O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance

Solution :Replace oxygen sensor and see if the problem goes away.

Getting code p1135 and p1155 on toyota rav4 2002

Here's what the codes mean:
P1135 Air/Fuel Sensor Heater Circuit Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P1155 Air/Fuel Sensor Heater Circuit. (Bank 1 Sensor 2

This is mainly related to the oxygen sensors. It maybe the sensors themselves or an open wire going to te sensors. They are mainly located on the exhaust pipe. One before and on after the catalytic converter.
