Have you checked/replaced the O2 sensor(s). They produce the data that your computer reads. Bad/clogged O2 sensors will trick the ECU into running lean/rich.
Ok first question. Did you install an AC Delco fuel pump? If not, change the pump. Other pumps do not maintain the pressure that is required by the system. You say you have installed a new disturber, insure you are time installed correctly. Rough running usually is a vacuum leak, usually you can find it by spraying cab. cleaner around the intake manifold and components. Hope it helps
your problem is not the fuel pump relay, a relay is just a switch it is either on or off so if the pump is working then the relay is working, i can look up the location for you but i need to know the year, make & model. i think your running problem is more likely a bad spark plug or spark plug wire or ignation coil, again if you give me the year , make, model, engine size i can look up some specific test for you car. also check for trouble codes and let me know what they are and i will look them up as well.
Check if all of the plugs are getting spark. You can do that by pulling the high tension wire at the spark plug end and over the engine check if all are getting the blue arc. Check if the fuel filter needs changing. The fuel supply may also not be consistent, check during start up if fuel is being supplied to the lines via the filter or the hose to the engine also after the engine dies. Fuel may just be only at the start up and when idling supply is low or gone.
I am unsure if your year has the fuel pump already, it may be the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump has gone bad.
Try cleaning the intake with carb cleaners just to rule out dirt in the sensors and the manifold. Check for leaks in the vacuum hoses and air duct from the filter to the intake. It may also be the IAC valve or the EGR for the EFI variants, IAC especially if the idling after start up and before dying is rough. It may need cleaning or replacing.
If you still have the carb or it was converted to carb you may need to adjust the fuel and air by moving screws by quarter turns on the carb and taking note of the movements. It could also be the jets for the fuel which may need cleaning. Carb cleaner would do the job but for tough dirt you may have to remove the carb and clean the internals. During cleaning you may inspect the valves and the parts for wear.
I would check the connectors on the coil packs, spark plugs and wires and replace them if they at all seem worn or tired. My 2000 sportage ran rough so I replaced the fuel filter, coil packs, spark plugs and wires, cleaned out the IAC valve, TPS, throttle body and intake tube, tightened the screws on the fuel pump access door under the right rear seat and cleaned the ground wire and the contact surface and I added 1 ground wire from the block to the firewall and 1 from the valve cover to the firewall. Your timing is more than likely right where it needs to be but the ignition may be slightly missing from a bad coil pack, dirty or fouled plugs or a bad plug wire.
can b a few problems check fuel pressure /fuel filter and or fuel pump/ check egr valve /test either clean repair,replace/check carb-throttle body clean repair/check cat converter possible clogging
My problem was solved when I repaired my 4 wd activation dash switch. The switch was contacting on 2WD & 4HI at the same time. The front differential activation is vacuum activated possibly creating a tug of war that didn't actually engage it but drained off vacuum from the engine? A theory at best but stumbbled across it because I knew the switch wasn't working properly I repaired it and low and behold rough idle disappeared and all is good for 3 weeks running.
