Some times this job is just patience and persistence. Make sure you've got all the body panels, sections of wiring harness etc out of the way to make it easier.
DISCONNECT THE BATTERY!!!
Starters use VERY HIGH VOLTAGE!
Disconnect the wires from the starter. NOTE these terminals can snap if your too rough.
remove the two mounting bolts at the end nearest to you.
The motor should slide out. If not wriggle it and GENTLY lever it side to side. It should drop out.

Simple way to check if anything goes wrong is to go to Autozone store (if you are in US) and scan for trouble codes (if there are any of them). They do it free of charge. If you get any codes you can get the explanation of them here

SOURCE: surburban has gone into four wheel drive and will not come out

you might want to check the gear selector switch that is located on the driver side of the tranny, if the 4x4 is electric and not manual for engagement, selector must read neutral to disengage 4 wheel drive. by experience if you drove it through deep water gear selector switch can get damaged.

SOURCE: Is Honda CRV cars four wheel drive?

Hi

The CRV is produced in both front wheel drive and four wheel drive versions. However in UK and Australia it is only available as a 4 WD as the front wheel drive option is not available in these countries.

The answer to your question therefore is that it is produced in both 2 WD and 4 WD but is dependant on what country you live in and the model variant.

Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer. Thanks.

Yes hello I've got a 5.7ltrgen3 Holden commodore underneath the transmission there's a small round hole you can see the the big round wheel underneath that hole big wheel has teeth on it just want to know...

Yes, this is normal. The big wheel you are seeing is called the flywheel. The teeth that you can see are what the starter motor engage to turn the motor over. The hole is simply an inspection hole. From the factory there would have been a rubber plug in the hole, but if it has gone missing it is no worry.

the small push on conn, only goes 1 places, the solenoid.
ALT
the lat has 2 connections.
the big lug ring lug, to the starter big stud
then just plug in the rear connnector

1996 Honda Passport LX starter replacement

I HERE YOU BROTHER, I TYPICALLY DO ALL MY OWN WORK BUT THIS ONES FOR THE CERTIFIED MECHANICS. I ALSO LAID UNDER MY PASSPORT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT. I FINALLY WENT AND GOT A QUOTE FROM MY MECHANIC WHO I DO USE FROM TIME TO TIME. $137.26 JUST LABOR , I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED THE STARTER. BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT! I PICKED IT UP AND HE TOLD ME (GET THAT THING OUTA HERE JOKINGLY) IT ENDED UP TAKING HIM AND HIS CREW 6.5 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE JOB. MY MECHANIC HAS ALWAYS HELD TRUE TO HIS WORD SO I WAS CHARGED EXACTLY WHAT I HAD BEEN QUOTED. THEY BROKE OFF BOLTS , TORE UP TOOLS , AND EVEN HAD TO USE A CUTTING TORCH. MY ADVICE: GET THE LOWEST QUOTE FROM A GOOD MECHANIC , MAKE SURE THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR QUOTE AND LET THEM HAVE AT IT. HOPE THIS HELPS AND SAVES YOU A BIG HEADACHE!GOOD LUCK.

Car doesnt turn over just makes a thud like sound and just changed starter

Your problem could be Battery only has 10 volts and you need 12 volts,,, 2nd you might have a siezed engine or the wrong gearing on new starter motor
If you jump start with another car connect the jumper leads Red to feed on both cars and then earth cables if still wont turn over ,,,take starter motor out
and you will see the starter ring ,put a big screwdriver in and see if it will turn if no ,,, engine no good (sorry)
