Pontiac mini van 1998 transport, V6, 3.5L I left lights on and when I came back found my car battery died, I get boosted, since then my prostart two way 3 in 1 remote starter never work. Last winter I changed my battery and this procedure worked for me, but this not really. I was told this procedure, first open the hoot and press the antenna twice and put the key and turn on but not ignite the engine and then press lock or unlock button 3seconds, then after that push the brake pedal.

1998 pontiac transport Van will not shift to 2nd gear but will drive on 1st gear 30mph...what can be problem

Could be a dirty oil filter in the transmission with out proper oil flow the pump has difficulty providing the right amount of pressure to allow the up shift. Check to fluid level if it's low add what your owners manual tell's you. Not always but sometimes a back washing the transmission can remove deposits left behind by clutch material's from the valve body intricate maze of travel. This can only be done by a transmission shop that offers this type of service. Most automatic Transmissions failures are caused by neglect long before high millage cause's trouble. A rebuilt transmission may be needed how ever that my over ride the value of the vehicle. I hope you can get your van back up & running as it should.

MY BATTERY KEEPS DYING

Either you have a dead cell in the battery, or something draining the power in the van.
A mechanic would take the battery out and have it tested, then check each circuit in the van for a power drain.

My van won't start all lights indoor complete died nothing work due i left it for a month and tried to boost charger won't do anything.

either the overhead light kill switch may have been pressed by accident, or since your battery died for an extended time, you may have to reprogram how you want the lights to work. Should be in your owners manual how to program interior lights section.

I have a 97 transport van. Is the fuel pump

1997 model just work with the 1997 fuel pump; the same situation with the 1998 model and 1996 model.

For other years, they can interchangeable, as Transport 1990-1995.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

1998 Pontiac transport van wont start:

Well you hit all the major ones, could be crank position sensor, ignition module, a bad coil pack (it should have 3), you need to check that you have spark to each plug while the engine is turning over (!!!be careful as this will hurt if you get shocked!!!), this will rule out coil packs. if you have no spark to any plug your looking at a bad ingnition module (which is what the coil packs bolt to). Hope this gets you on the right track!

1998 windstar van: charging system light goes

It could mean the alternator has gone bad already... with the car off, the battery leads should read 11-12V.. with the car on, the battery should read 13-14V.. if it's lower then it's not charging your battery and if it's higher, it's damaging your battery....

My 1997 pontiac transport van will not start

CHECK FOR FUEL AND SPARK FIRST.
CHECK ALL THE CONNECTORS ON EVERYTHING, ESPECIALLY THE IGNITION MODULE CONNECTIONS. THE CRANK SENSOR OFF THE BACK OF THE ENGINE COMES UP ALONG THE FUEL LINES AND CONNECTS TO THE IGNITION MODULE.
