Question about 2006 Mazda Tribute

Open Question

I have a 2006 Mazda Tribute. It has 135000 miles. When I come to a stop the RPMs jump up to about 1200 and then drop under 500 and then the vehicle dies. It doesn't do it all the time about 1 time per 8-10 stops. The injector board has been cleaned, idol air control valve replace, heat and fuel cleaner ran through the gas. The vehicle runs fine when i have the cruse on.

SOURCE: when slowing down & stopping 2005 Mazda tribute sputters and dies

Sounds like it could possibly be a vaccume problem, the computer sees that the vaccume has a low pressure and thus fludding the engine, or visa versa, it's seeing too high of a pressure and cutting the fuel comsumption to a minumum enough to make the engine sputter and die.. Does this happen when the cars in Netural or Reverse or Park? Just Drive?

SOURCE: I replaced the battery, now the car will not idol

My friend, I dont know what is wrong but I would be surprised if it is battery caused. Something has corrupted your computer. You may need a professional to check this problem out.

Idle is what an engine does.

Idol is what you watch on NBC.

I have a 2001 mazda tribute , i recently had the brake booster changed and fitted in a brand new one. Before fitting in the new brake booster, the vehicle at one occasion lost its brakes , luckily no one...

There is a Hose that comes off the Brake Booster and goes to the Crankcase Breather, this is how the Vacuum for the Brakes gets its ability to work. It is more than likely disconnected or the Valve is defective.

I have a 2006 mazda tribute , i replaced the altinator a week ago because the dash lights and headlamps were blinking on and off. replaced the altinator and it was good for a week.... now it is happen

Check for voltage at the battery with the engine running. If you have around or more than 14 volts than the alternator is working. If the vehicle starts with a jump and continues to run without starting than the alternator is doing its job. You likely need a new battery. Most auto parts store will check it for free. If the battery is bad replacing it sooner rather than later will be the best choice.

I have a 2006 Mazda Tribute. Can you tell me what the recommended time is between lube and oil changes. Is it 3000 miles or 5000. Thanks

It used to be every 3 months or 3,000 miles but some manufacturers are suggesting that 5,000 miles is ok. My view is that it does not hurt the motor having more oil changes. I continue to have them done every 3,000 miles myself even if my oil life indicator has not come on. Clean oil is very important to have a engine last for many miles. There are some full synthetic oils that can go for 5,000 or 7,000 miles beteween oil changes but cost alot more than the standard oil.
