There is a sensor under the left hand side of the dash that would not allow it to start, provided that you have replaced the electronic spark module inside the distributor first, which is what it sounds like it would be, When you say you replaced the distributor I assume you replaced it complete!
first do you have 6 button presets and is your code also 6 digits.then turn radio on and put in the 6 digit code.but if your radio has 4 buttons then we need a diff way to install.for example code may be 1246. you turn radio on and go to first button preset and hit it once for 1.now go to second preset and hit the preset two times for 2 of the code and go to the next one which is 4.go to preset three and tap the preset 4 times and finish with 6 of code and radio will make sound and select your radio stations.
I held down preset 1 and 6 while turning on the radio. The display then said "CODE." I punched in the 4-digit code (found on the side of the passenger side glove box) using the preset buttons, and viola! the stereo came back on.
piston one should be top dead you can do it by putting a straw in the #1 spark plug hole then rotate crank till it reaches highest point.. thats top dead center ... match the cams to the marks... if you took out the distriubutor and did not mark anything then you have to try different combos advancing and retarding while tryin to start .basically get the crank and cams aligned then play with dist timing...
First clear all codes. remove the neg. battery cable for 10 sec. then turn the radio on it will display CODE. Enter the 5 digit numbers using the preset buttons numbered 1 to 6.
No way around it the second digit must be entered with the second button, though a specialist might be able to remove the need for a code altogether at a price. Such guys used to be more common and cheaper than they are now.
If the button has dropped out leaving a hole in the front panel it might be possible to use something like a toothpick to push the small button on the circuit board that is behind the front panel...
either the radio code is wrong or you have locked the radio down you only have three attempts to enter the correct code if this is the case disconnect thenegative battery cable for 10 minutes then reconnect and try again. If the code is wrong the audio unit will have to be removed so you can get the serial number to give to the honda dealership so they can get the correct code
